  1. What issues are they having with the Toyotas and Hondas? I havent heard about it. Thanks
  2. Our Edge with 250 miles on it is back in the Dealer for the 3rd time. The stalling issue seems to be resolved, but the wrench light keeps coming on. I was determined to make Ford take it back, but the Dealership is so damn nice, and the deal we got was really good, so we are going to deal with it. It is really a NICE car.Sucks that it is needing repair, but putting it into perspective , its a minor issue.Annoying, but minor.
  3. 2008 Edge.50 miles .Going back to the shop 2cd time for engine light and stall issue. LISTEN UP FORD! IF THIS IS THE BEST YOU CAN OFFER OUR FAMILY FOR OUR HARD EARNED(AND DIMINISHING) WAGES, our family will be parting ways with you.We have leased and bought probably10 new rides from you.Probably more...I am starting to ask myself ...why? I try to support the Michigan home team...But what is in it for me? You build the thing in Canada, all you auto company's are slashing wages to the point that nobody will be able to afford your product. We just got rid of an Explorer that had some serious issues including 3 trips to get a radiator replaced that at first we were told was fine.We also got to pay 250 bucks for new tires at 13,000 miles. And a spark plug issue.I really hope the edge we have is just a fluke. But I know the law, and if that pos goes back the 3rd time, FORD, mark my words, you will get it back.Either the easy way, or the hard way.And the hard way will cost you some money for sure. Our salesman was top drawer and we love him.The service Dept, has a little to be desired , because they think its not a problem to fix brand new cars.I think its a real big problem to fix brand new cars. This is the 3rd day our edge has not served its purpose of safely transporting us to our employment.Isnt that why we lease a new vehicle? To avoid problems? I will keep posting as to the outcome. But as for now, if I could justify it, there would be a Toyota or Honda in our drive. We fell like we are stupid for having a Ford.
  4. Good luck to you on that repair. We picked ours up after a couple hours....they say the only thing they could find was possibly a damaged or improperly seated wire harness connector.I have heard of it happening before. It is still aggravating to have a ride with 50 miles on it , have to be repaired. But I am thinking..... those of us needing repairs are going to be a lot more "vocal" lol, than those that have no issues to complain about.I really like the car though.Smooth, quiet. Its also rated pretty decent all around. There was an Edge at the Dealer with ground effects and a tuner engine of some sort.Nice job, looked factory except for the silver color.Any way, we are once again satisfied with our new Edge.Hope everything works out good for you too........
  5. I posted this morning about a smelly oder, and warning lights...It is not a leak as I was fearing.....The smell is typical new car burn.....I drove the car into the Dealer, and they are being extremely accommodating.Gave me a loaner and said that the "leakers" have been remedied for the most part. But its a bummer having a brand new ride that needs repair, but if this is the only issue we have......
  6. We just brought our new Edge home too. We immediately liked it.That is unusual for me, I am unfortunately very critical . I remarked several times about finding no problem with the car.Drives nice, not to big, not to small, smooth, turns nice......But here we are, 56 miles on the odometer, and the wrench and engine light come on.WTF? So I figure, hmmm, must be that burning smell coming from under the hood, maybe a wire or something is accidentally placed in the wrong area and it is being burnt.NOPE, here I come looking for info, about a burning oder. Now I see a transmission leak that can only be fixed by repeated trips and inconvenience's to the Dealer, where you have to battle your way through a gauntlet of those who are stupid and dont know anything, those that do know ,and wont help , and those who dont seem to think its a problem , having to repair a brand new vehicle, practically before it gets off the lot.Come on.If we are having an isolated problem that is bad.But if these are known defects, and they keep pumping them out, someone needs to go.We seem to be stuck buyng the Fords because of the incentives....I am not real excited about the goofy design, but they are like all the rest as far as that goes, and they grow on ya.I wonder what the numbers are on this tranny problem?
