  1. Yes yes, I know everyone claims the waste gate can only be replaced by replacing the turbo. However, I want to make sure it is not the simple diagram and rod actuator that is causing my problems, has anyone attempted to just source this part on its own? Anything in the aftermarket world that could be placed in? Somedays I have zero boost, some days it is 10 PSI. I no longer get the full 16 range. Sounds like a stuck wastegate. It could the internal gate is broken, but why not try the simple external diaphragm? http://fordstnation.com/member-chad-albums-focus-st-2-0l-ecoboost-engine-picture2109-ford-focus-st-ecoboost-engine-12.html
  2. So did you have the Sony setup? I'm confused between the Sony and I've heard of an audiophile system? I know the Sony was door speakers front doors were two ways, tweeters in the pillars and speakers in the back with a sub. From what I've read the audiophile was 4 upgraded 2-way door speakers and a sub. Where the subs the same between the Sony and audiophile. Do they still sell the audiophile, I did not see it in the 2013 spec bood. fit1446, what year is yours out of? If it was the Sony I assume it was powered externally from a remote amp? I've seen some of the sub enclosures have a bolted on amp on the back of the enclosure. What I think I've been reading is the Sony is remotely amped, the audiophile has an amp bolted to it. Not sure if there is an actual difference in the sub and enclosure though.
  3. My problem is I have a baby due in about a week. My wife would not be thrilled with me spending time and money on a nice JL. I'd love to. But I'm just looking to get the system fairly close to my GMC terrain I traded in with an OEM Pioneer system and factory sub in the back. It sounded decent, but this Edge is just sad. I'd take an 8 inch free air sub just go give me some low end.
  4. I have a stock non sony non navigation 2013 SEL. No subwoofer. What year Edge's factory subwoofer PHYSICALLY bolt in. I'm aware the wiring may or not be there. But I'm just asking what will physically bolt in. I've found someone who says they have an 07-2010 factory subwoofer. Will that physically not fit into a 2013? Can someone confirm they change part numbers for the subwoofer enclosure over the years? I have found this listing on e-bay. Which makes me think it would. Ford Edge/Lincoln MKX Subwoofer Enclosure BT4T-19A067-AA 2007-2014 I think what I'm seeing is there is a Sony version that has no amplifier attached. It must be fed from a Sony amp that is powering the other speakers too. Then I'm seeing a second typle of sub with an amp attached to the back. Must be a sub configuration for the non Sony setups? Can anyone tell me what they know on the subject?
  5. I just purchased some Rockford Fosgate Punch P1683 from Crutchfield. Any insight, pictures, videos on how to remove the door panels without breaking anything?
  6. Has this video disappeared? I was looking for some instructions. I have ordered new speakers for my 4 doors on my SEL and was looking for guidance before they arrive.
  7. How deep of speakers can I get in the doors? I have noticed amazon says "will not fit 2013 Edge" on some pages, but they are 5x7/6x8 speakers. Either they are too deep, or amazon does not have perfect data. Here is an example of a speaker that says "Will not fit". http://www.amazon.com/Kicker-11KS68-6x8-Coaxil-Speakers/dp/B004NTJEUQ/ref=sr_1_10?s=automotive&ie=UTF8&qid=1455303658&sr=1-10&keywords=ford+speaker+kit
  8. Have you guys found the movable tweeters to be helpful? Since these speakers are down lower in the door? Is it that a sales gimmick? I understand the imaging thought to point the highs toward your ears. Bass is non directional so its not as important. I'm debating if I "need" this feature.
  9. What else have you guys done besides the adapter for a simple door swap? Dynomat really important?
  10. I guess you are right, I see that now, I wish they just blanked them out completely. Its a bit confusing. But I do see it now. Why would you choose to not use the 6x8 to get the biggest cone if you do not plan on getting a sub? I understand some with the separate components to feed the high signals to the tweeters. I do mess with home theater a good deal, but when you have no sub in the system, why not attempt to maximize cone area?
  11. Anyone know how much wattage these put out so I can shop for a well matched speaker? I'm not going to add an amp for the mains. I am thinking of just replacing all four doors with something decent, nothing crazy. Thoughts?
  12. BTW, Crutchfield is less than helpful. You go and put in 2013 Ford Edge SEL, not Sony, no Nav. And under "Front Speakers" it literally everysize under the sun listed. From 6 1/2, 5x7, 5 1/4, 3 1/2 and 4x10. Obviously that is not right. http://www.crutchfield.com/m_399/Car-Speakers.html?tp=12&l=C
  13. Is there only "one" factory subwoofer in 2013 Terrains? I know the "Sony" system that comes in the limited has a sub, but is that the only sub option? So confusing looking around. Trying to understand if the wiring is there or not. I haven't cracked my compartment open on the side yet to see if there are any free harnesses. Even if there are, it does not guarantee the head unit is powering them since there is no Sony head unit in my SEL.
  14. Maybe a less drama question. I have read that the SEL has basically four door speakers. What is the biggest cone I can fit? I think a 6x8 will fit, but that are not super common so people use the 5x7 which fits a 6x8. Is this accurate? Is there a decent priced 6x8 on the market? I have been doing reading, but all the articles are old and I figured there are newer speakers on the market.
