I have had one in my 03 Sport Trac for a bout 3 years now. Noticed a gas mileage improvement of about 10-15%. It now has 134,000kms on it, and it runs fine. Maybe there is a little extra dirt getting in and it will not let the engine make it to 300K or 400K, who knows? who cares? Its getting traded in next week when my EDGE gets delivered and has served its purpose. That $60 filter has saved my $60 a month in fuel for the last 3 years. I'll be putting one in my EDGE. IF they were that bad, then why would they display and sell them at the Ford Parts counter at the dealership?

A close friend of mine that works at the Oakville plant gave me an x-PLAN PIN. I was going to use it towards the purchase of a new 08 EDGE. Will it get me any discount off of the current promotion that Ford is offering here in Ontario called Family Plan Pricing? The Dealer is saying that the Current promotion is like A Plan pricing and since Xplan is not as good as A plan that this PIN will not get me a bettter deal. If this is so, then what is the purpose of issuing these pins at this time?

So the Family Plan Pricing is now here in Ontario. Should I be able to negotiate some off of the Family Plan price or is that the bottom line price? (Family Plan pricing is now approx $3500 off of the original MSRP)

All these discounts and cash back incentives but nothing here in Ontario yet. I heard that maybe July 1st Ford will bring back the Ford family pricing here. Anyone heard if this is true?

I have not picked up my new Edge yet but I will within the next month. I currently have an 03 Explorer Sport Trac 4x4 and have had great success with a K&N filter. I installed mine when I had approximately 60,000kms on it. Durring this time my milage slowly increased through the first 2o,oookms and then after that I was consistantly getting between 475-525 kms on a tank (90Litres). since then I have put on another 70,000kms With the K&N I am now consistantly getting 575-600kms per tank (best was 637kms). My driving habits have not changed, I am still driving the same route to work each day. That $60 air filter paid for itself in the first month I used it. If you had a problem with your Mass Airflow sensor it is probably because you over oiled your filter after cleaning it. Also if you do that, you should notice the vehicle not running properly and that could signal you that you have too much oil and you could clean the sensor. I'll be installing a K&N on my Edge after the initial break in period. Use it properly and you should not have any problems.
