  1. Well, picked it up on Friday (after they had the car for a week and a half), a/c system was evacuated and refilled, and the EVAP purge valve was replaced. Idle surge was still there, a/c was still gurgling... So, last night it got traded on a 2018 Grand Cherokee Altitude. I am over dealing with Ford and their terrible network of dealerships, Chevrolet and Chrysler have both been too good to me to keep dealing with these issues.
  2. Ironically enough I suggested the exact same thing to the dealership when I dropped it off a week ago today. Last night, I was called and told the noise couldn't be duplicated after driving the car multiple times over the last few days. Funny enough, I showed up, turned the air on, turned the blower to the lowest setting, and the noise immediately started. Service advisor comes out to take a listen, and says "sounds like their might be liquid refrigerant in the evaporator, we might need to evacuate the system and possibly replace the expansion valve as well". I guess my Ford dealership just isn't used to customers actually having somewhat of a clue...
  3. Nope, issue happens usually after about 5-10 minutes of driving once the HVAC blower speed slows down to minimum, and only occurs with the a/c engaged. Turning the HVAC system off or stopping the a/c compressor results in the noise stopping immediately (thus eliminating the possibility of an air pocket in the heater core). Numerous trips in the same day produce the same noise as well, and the noise never stops once it begins during the trip. I'm going to call the dealer tomorrow and see what they have to say, but it sounds a lot like an expansion valve issue or possibly low refrigerant.
  4. Yep, definitely not a drain tube issue. Noise stops as soon as the power button is pressed on the controls, and when operational the drain flows rather well (as indicated by my checking and the puddles left on my garage floor).
  5. Has anyone else experienced a gurgling noise coming from the passenger side floorboard area with the ac on low? Our 2015 has made this noise for quite some time now, and it seems to be getting worse lately. The last time we took it in for service, we were told that the cabin filter had collapsed (it hadn't) and was causing the noise, but even with the filter completely removed for testing the noise still persists. It sounds identical to an issue that Lexus RX350's were experiencing, and that was fixed by replacing a TXV and connecting tube, but I can't find anything from Ford regarding the Edge. Just curious to see if i'm alone in this experience, or if there are others that have run into this issue.
  6. bringing this back from the dead... anyone who wants to secure their push button start that has access to FORScan can do so by making the following change: Secure Idle (cannot shift gears while car running with no keyfob) (BCM): 726-42-01 x0xx xxxx xxxx (disabled) 726-42-01 x1xx xxxx xxxx (enabled) After making this change, you can start the car, keep the key fob in your pocket, and leave it running. Nobody will be able to put the vehicle into gear without the key fob inside the vehicle Did this a while back on the wife's Edge and on my Mustang just because of the number of carjackings that seem to be happening at gas stations due to the close proximity of the key fob to the vehicle.
  7. the ford accessories site only shows an antenna, and a cellular remote start addition. So what is this other accessory that would be required? If the Ford accessories site shows it can be done with an antenna, and activating it in ForScan gives the options that are not greyed out (which would be normal if the module doesn't exist), what else could possibly be required? I'm more curious where the OEM antenna is located on a 2015+, and might have to go rent one for a day to find out.
  8. Already did that,, it shows an antenna and that's it. Doesn't show what the antenna connects to, nor which vehicles already have it in place. https://accessories.ford.com/electronics/remote-start/aerial-asy.html
  9. So I decided to dig in and see if I could find out whether I had this antenna installed or not in my 2015 SEL today. Attached are some pictures of my findings, or lack there of anyway. I expected to find an antenna between the drivers door and dash, but saw nothing. Also looked behind the dash for a module, but once again saw nothing. I did find a grey plug with a grey/red wire that was tied to another harness and capped off, maybe this is the connector I'm looking for somehow. So, if anyone wants to pitch in and help, pop the little sunglass holder out and look behind it for this grey/red wire, and see if it's plugged into anything. The sunglass bin is held in with 4 clips that can be popped out with a small 90 degree pick or a flat head screwdriver. I'm hoping somehow that the module is located elsewhere, and that the antenna connects to this empty plug, but maybe that's wishful thinking.
  10. no need to have the dealer activate the fobs if you have 2 originals...you would be able to program a third and 4th yourself. I'm almost positive everything is already included as far as the wiring and remote start goes, just needs the programming updated to enable remote start and IPC options and the fob programmed. Worst case scenario would be adding the antenna, which on a 2015+ looks to be extremely simple.
  11. The Edge remote start ties into a module that splits off of the OBD2 port, and most components are already there. I have seen reports on older Edges that the antenna was not included unless the vehicle had power liftgate, but I have not been able to confirm that is the case on the 2015+. Even if it's not included, it's a cheap part, and plug & play. I've been spending too much time exploring as-built mods on my Mustang lately, I need to get back to locating a 5-button IA keyfob, and see if I can make the remote start functional without any additional parts added. With that said, if there is anyone in CFL that's interested in this, or any other as-built mod, shoot me a PM.
  12. Definitely can enable remote start with Forscan, i've done it with my 2015 SEL. Remote start is now enabled, and options can be controlled via the IPC. All I need to do is find a key, and see if it works without adding the antenna
  13. forgot to post last night, but these are officially sold
  14. I'll let you know if something happens. Thanks
