  1. After 2 years since my first post on this subject (Jan 16 2017), I just had the steering wheel replaced today! Repeated visits over the 2 years resulted in no action even with the TSB in hand. The AS warning now was going off every time I drove the car; turning out of my driveway; going straight down the road; even with the motor off but electrical on, I could activate the warning by just slightly turning the steering wheel (without the power steering even engaged). Now, when I wen to the dealer he "magically" stated you need a new steering wheel !! So that was done today and it seems to be fine , HOWEVER, when I went to the "adaptive steering mode" (in the driver assist menu) it no longer lets me choose between 'regular' (normal) and 'sport'. Is that what happens with the new steering wheel or did they just disable the feature and maybe not really replace the wheel? Any comments?
  2. I live in California and have a 2016 Edge with HID headlights. The DRL function does not activate the HID's, only the halogen high beams, but at a lower light output and no other lights are on (i.e. tail lights, etc.) We also have to have head lamps on when wipers are on (raining / snowing), and by state law DRL's don't count; you need front and rear lights operating when wipers are on!
  3. As a new forum member, I was surprised to read all of the adaptive steering fault issues out there! I have a 2016 Ford Edge Titanium with the adaptive steering option (part of the "Driver's Package) with a 5/16 build date (purchased 7/16). I currently have 6,340 miles on the car. Yesterday, while driving about 22 miles the "Adaptive Steering Fault Service Required" light came on. This was the first time I had ever seen that. Just prior to arriving at destination, the light went out. I valet parked and when I got the car back, the light was back on and now the steering wheel was positioned 90 degrees toward the right (photo attached). I drove home with the steering wheel in this position the entire way, which made it virtually impossible to see the instrument cluster! This morning when I started up the car, the light was out and the steering wheel "mysteriously" was back to it's normal position...go figure! I did fill out the NHTSA form, and also called my dealer who told me he couldn't see the car for 2 weeks..but not to worry that it would be OK to drive....yikes, if it goes back to the 90 degree position. Looks like I'm in for a 'wait' to get this fixed, which is not a good thing. Does anybody have a copy of the TSB 16-2066 that was mentioned. I want to show it to the dealer service manager.
