Thanks for the info on the upgrade. I didn't really get much from the service manager when I was in there about how it worked. Is there a separate charge for it besides your cell phone? That question is probably answered by looking at the website you said. I will do some research on it but from what I read what people are saying on this blog, I probably will upgrade to it.

I just received a card in the mail about a SYNC upgrade. I have an 08 Limited Edge. I took my car in for an oil change and they mentioned it to me. He said is dials 911 like On Star and shows you what maintenance is due. Has anyone done this upgrade? The cost is $50.00 and I am trying to figure out if it is worth it. Does anybody know anything about the upgrade? Thanks for any info.

I guess I didn't make myself clear enough. I know that when you take the key out the seat moves back and usually when I put the key in the seat goes back into position. The question I have is, if I am sitting in the car and I want the seat to go back I use the auto button to move it back. Then when I get back in when I put the key in it does not go to the right position I have programed with the key in or if I push the no. 1 which is set for me. Is this normal when you manually move the seat back, it cancels out the auto set buttons? Thanks

I also have an 08 Limited. I have noticed that they have sensors that will open the door up if it has something in that sensor area. I don't know where they are but I have tried to close mine before and it will automatically open up. I would assume if you had an animal back there, that could present a problem. You might just make sure there isn't anything too close to the back. Other than that, mine hasn't opened on its own. Good lunck

I have a question for anyone about the Memory Seats. I have programed the first one for my position. Haven't programed No. 2 for my husband yet, but after this question I am sure that will be what I am told. After he drives or I drive and we have to manually move the seat back, the memory button does not bring it back when pushed even though No. 1 is programed. I have to actually manually move the seat up each time. Is this normal or is there something wroing? I was under the impression if you push the button it will always take you back to position even if you have manually moved it back. Thanks

I've been worryed about door dents too so I usually park away from people when I can. I have an 08 Black Limited that I actually had pinstripped along the side with a small silver leaf line with a tiny red line on each side of it. I have the black interior with red inserts. I have a question for all of you guys. Do you think it would be best to get the all black side molding rather than the chrome ones. I wonder if it would be too busy with the chrome. I also have 20 inch rims after factory with 20 in tires too. Appreciate any imput. I just love this forum, it's great info. Thanks

I got the AWD here in Oregon since I had been use to an Expedition for the last 10 years. Like the security in bad weather traveling the hills I have to my house. Really love the way the Edge drives compared to the Expedition. :happy feet:

I just called the dealer in my area and he didn't know what I was talking about with the mirrors. What are you suppose to ask for to get these ordered. Did you pay $80 for one or for both. I too have those little stick on mirrors but would really like the safety of the new mirrors. Can you tell me anything that might make it easier to get from the dealer. Thanks

I just called the Dealership where I bought the Edge. The 6P is listed as 2006. I asked them at the time when I bought it and they told me that was the latest. When you go on the Navteq website, the new CD is $149.00. That seems rather high for something you just bought. They should make some sore of discount when you haven't had the vehicle that long. I guess I'll just drive with the old one for now. I can't see paying that for a few more maps which may not even be in my state. It's too bad they can't upgrade them with satelite like they do so many things. Thanks

I looked at the case my nav system CD came in and it says it's 6P. I note that you say there is a 7P. Do you know how to go about getting it and how do you change it once you have it? Thanks

Just my luck, it would have been nice to get the newer one. I hope they still make the new DVD's available to people with the old system. I guess that they always have to improve but it's a shame when you just miss the better one. I wonder if the newer one is more user friendly. Has anyone seen one yet. Thanks

As I haven't figured out how to add a topic yet and being new to this forum, I thought I would post my question after your question since it is about the Nav System. I have an 08 Edge with the Nav system. I just read on the 2009 Ford Edge that it is going to have nte next generation nav system that will have real time traffic, weather, movies, event information and gas prices of local gas stations. If we get the next version DVD for our 08 Edge, would it have any of these possibilities or is that only for the 09 Edge? If so, what a rip. I find that this nav system isn't nearly as user friendly as our portable Garmin that we bought after the Edge for my husband's trucks. I also noticed that they have done something with the air flow in them as many people have complained about that. Just curious if anybody knows about the upgrade in the nav system. Our Edge is a 2008 and we picked it up last December. When I got it they had the rubber pieces in the cupholders but I didn't see any foam pieces anywhere. What do they do? Are they worth going to the dealership to get? If they don't serve much purpose I don't want to do anything with them. thanks for your imput.

When I picked up my Edge, the little rubber pieces were in the cup holder but there wasn't anything for the door pulls. What is this? And what does it do? Is it worth go to the dealership to get? I didn't know about these and I got my 08 last December. Thanks

Thanks, they are the factory lights. We'll look at the manual and see what it says about the adjustment. I know there is a part about the adjustment of headlights. So it sounds like this might not be so unusual. Hopefully they aren't too hard to adjust.

Here is a question for you since it sounds like you work at a Ford Dealership. I have a 2008 AWD Edge. My husband was driving in front of me and noticed that my fog lights don't match. One is a blue color and the other is a clear color. If you move around looking at it from a distance it changes from side to side on the color. We took it to the Dealership and asked them about it. We thought maybe they could just change the bulbs. They told us they had never heard of it before and it was hard for them to see it since it was day time. You don't notice the difference if you are fairly close but you sure do from a distance. It doesn't bother me but it certainly does look odd when you are driving it. Has anyone else had this problem or any suggestions. Thanks, cindy

Aren't we being told that gas is always going to have ethanol in it even if it's summer time now? I think that's what I have heard. That means that extra 1-2 mpg won't come back to us. I hate the gas mileage of the Edge but I love everything else about it so I guess I'll wait to see how that improves. Thanks

Thanks, at least I have something to look forward to. Also had a question for anyone. Has anyone ever put the Ambience Lighting kit in an Edge? I am planning on having the one we bought put in tomorrow. Hopefully it will turn out good. They have a tech that has done them before. I'll let you all know how it turns out.

I have noticed my gas mileage around town averaging 12 miles to the gallon which sucks since I bought it to replace an Expedition that was averageing around 10. I hadn't heard this about the Duratec V6 engine. I now have 2600 miles so do you think will improve with 3,000 to 5,000. At least it would be something to look forward to.
