  1. Thank you for finding this for me. I appreciate it. my edge is the non-chrome version and the vehicle color is black. I searched eBay, but no dice.
  2. Does anyone know where I can find one of these in black? Walked out to my wife's 2018 edge last night and it was gone. I guess it either fell off or grew legs. I went to the Dealership and they told me I need to buy the whole lock cylinder assembly to get one which costs mega bucks.
  3. I wouldn't tow another car any extended distance with a Ford Edge.
  4. So, this is how it all played out. My second set of winter rims didn't fit my Edge. They cleared the front brake calipers fine, but the center hole that goes in over the hub/axle assembly was too small. So much for being promised that the these rims would guaranteed to fit! Since winter is well underway here in Northern Canada, I had my X-Ice mounted on my OEM rims and got my money back for the winter rims (again!). I now have an extra set of TPMS sensors with mounting bands. I think what I will do is use the OEM rims as my winter rims and in the spring purchase nice summer rims and put the extra set of TPMS sensors on them.
  5. I have and 08 Edge SEL AWD with 17" rims. I purchased Michelin X-Ice with steel rims. I bought 4 OEM TPMS sensors with the bands from the Ford dealership. Unfortunately I'm having problems with the steel rims. The first tire shop, the rims were OK on the back, but didn't clear the front brake calipers. So, I returned them and got my money back. I went to another tire store and explained my situation and they said that the steel rims they would get me would fit the front. I purchased them and they still don't clear the front brake calipers. I'm kinda pissed about the whole thing now. I'm going back to the tire store on Monday morning first thing looking for answers. Comments?
  6. So, last night we finally had our first snowfall. I got up early this morning to put my new winter tires on. I did the rear first and all went well. Then when I did the front I noticed that the steel winter rims did not clear the front brakes. Anybody else have that problem with steel winter rims? K
  7. Hi there. Seems you have a good idea on changing those rims out. If you leave those plastic ones on for the winter, chances are you will for sure end up in the hurt locker. I think the smallest rims you can put on the Edge is the 17" due to the TPMS. I have read on the internet about people wanting to put 15" - 16" Fusion rims on the Edge because these sizes are much cheaper. Apparently due to the TPMS, this is not possible. I have an 08 Edge with 17" rims. I just ordered 17" "plain jane" winter steel rims and I'm going to be putting the Michelin X-Ice winter tires on them (235/65/R17). If you do not use your original stock tire size, I recommend you check out this link to see how it will affect your speedometer/mileage. http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html Best Regards, K
  8. ...or since you are only going to be there 1 year......look for a used set of winter tires on the rims as it is cheaper....then when you are done with the winter, sell them for whatever you can get.
  9. So, how does this work? You hold it next to the tire and press the button?
  10. Hmmm........reset tool.......interesting.....never heard of it. I'll have a look on ebay.
  11. Hi, I have a 2008 Edge, SEL, AWD with 17" tires with TPMS. Since I live in Northern Canada I will require winter tires. My plan is to purchase winter tires on regular steel rims with the TPMS sensors. I have purchased OEM TPMS sensors from the Ford dealership and I think I'm going to go with Michelin X-Ice 235/65/R17 on 17" steel rims. By doing this, I will be able to save my OEM rims from being ruined by the harsh winter conditions that exist here. My plan is to get the winter tires on the steel rims with the OEM sensors installed and balanced but NOT put them on the vehicle right away. Just as the snow is about to fly, I can just change the tires out in my garage. After doing so, I am wondering if the TPMS will be OK with the new sensors in the steel rims or will I have to bring it back to the Ford Dealership for a reset? Thanks for any input. K
