  1. My car had since been in for this issue multiple times. At first it was a loose axel nut. Then it was the cv joint, then it was the A arm. All on that same side and with low miles. I just went in again for another CV joint replacement, luckily under warranty. It has low miles and no rain or snow in area so don't know how it could go through joints so quickly, but it did. The Ford tech were able to catch the noise by using "chassis iears". It was never the strut or anything like that.
  2. UPDATE: I took it to our local Ford dealers "Quick Lane" today since they work on struts. It is sort of an abbreviated Ford repair shop for basic stuff. The technician felt it was the passenger side strut bearing and was able to reproduce the noise. They did not have the part, but it is schedule for the repair at their main shop this coming Thursday. I will again confirm the fix afterwards in hopes it may help others. Thank you for your input.

  4. Thank you for the reply. I will have it checked out this week and report what they find so it may help others.
  5. Thank you for wanting to play Name that Noise! Before you listen to the audio recording of the noise, here are your clues: 2014 Ford Edge SEL FWD Only 17,000 miles Only makes the noise when turning left The sharper the turn, the more noise it makes, especially when turning into parking stalls. Noise seems to come from right front Do not feel anything in steering wheel or brakes Only does it while moving forward, not stationary and turning wheel Does not seem to do it in reverse when wheel is cranked over to the left Brakes seem good, are releasing and vehicle does not pull Ready for the sound? Please click this link to my dropbox. It is a 16 second audio file recorded while making 2 left sharp turns in a parking lot. https://www.dropbox.... noise.m4a?dl=0 Seriously, any thoughts? I did post this in the suspension section too of course. Got the car from CarMax and have their warranty, but have not been impressed in the past with their work. I appreciate your time and thoughts.

  7. Thank you for the attachment info. While it will not allow attachment of this audio file type, here is a link to it in my dropbox folder: https://www.dropbox.com/s/fkse4lobnivzxyq/2%20left%20turns%20and%20noise.m4a?dl=0 or: https://www.dropbox.com/s/fkse4lobnivzxyq/2%20left%20turns%20and%20noise.m4a?dl=0 n this 13 second clip, I make 2 sharp left turns and you can hear the noise. I believe it is coming fromt he right front. Does not happen when turning to other side. The sharper the turn, the more noise is created. Thanks! Sean
  8. It is under warranty but through CarMax. The noise has been intermittent but seems to be increasing. Thank you for your comment. If anyone knows how to upload an audio clip, I have a good 15 second one of the noise. Thanks!
  9. I will add, it does not seem to do it in reverse when wheel is cranked hard left. Maybe that helps diagnose things? Thanks!
  10. I have a 2014 edge sel, fwd, 17,000 miles. It makes a creaking noise when turning sharply only to the left. This most often occurs at slow parking lot speeds, especially when turning left into parking stall. The more the steering wheel is cranked over, the greater the noise. Noise seems to be coming from front end, perhaps passenger side or right wheel. It is not a popping or clicking noise. Steering wheel does not feel a pop, car does not pull to either side nor do breaks. Here is an audio recording of the sound while making two sharp left turns at parking lot speed: https://www.dropbox.com/s/fkse4lobnivzxyq/2%20left%20turns%20and%20noise.m4a?dl=0 Drives great, no drag. Only make noise while moving, not stationary. Could struts or cv be out with such low miles? No tears in cv boots. Any thoughts or places to check first? Thinking strut bearing mount? Thanks!
  11. Update: I wanted to follow up in case this helps anyone else. I received a call from the service department today stating they are confident they found the issue: a loose axle nut. After a test drive they said there was no more noise. I will get it tomorrow and see. Thank you again for all your feedback.
  12. Thank you for the feedback. I will check it and report back once solved. I got it at a local CarMax 2 weeks ago so they are servicing it under warrenty. I was also able to record the noise.
  13. UPDATE: I can now reproduce the chirping noise. It occurs when I let off the gas and am coasting at lower speeds. It is a chirping and spinning noise. It stops when I accelerate again. Any thoughts? I did have a Tacoma that did this and some grease in the u joint fixed it. Being new to the Ford Edge, could this be the same or similar area. Any experience or ideas? Thanks!
  14. Hello, I recently purchased a 2014 Ford Edge, SEL with 17,000 miles on it. I recently started to hear an intermittent squeak/chirping noise from the front end while driving slowly (10-20mph). It seems to come on a bit more when I accelerate then disappears above 20 mph. Seems to do it after vehicle has warmed up. Car does not pull to either side, and sound seems to go away went brakes are applied, but maybe only because it is slowing down. Brakes appear good Could the CV joint, wheel bearings, etc. be already out with so few miles? Any zerk or lube joints I could hit in this area? Thank you for your time!
