I am having the same problem with my 2016 Edge. Driver's side wiper stutters, sometimes pauses in "upright position". This has just started recently at about 40,000 km. Took it to the dealer today and they told me nothing is wrong with the wipers. I'm so frustrated.
The service guy did mention that the two wipers are on separate motors, so it makes sense to me that it could be a problem with the motor. Has any one else had a successful repair of this problem? I think i will need to diagnose it myself which is crazy when you have a vehicle on warranty.
Good to know from the original post that turning up the speed helped. I can try that for now to keep going until I have the patience to go back to the dealer again.
