  1. Yes, and since you have bought that marketing hype I have a bridge in Brooklyn for sale and maybe some land in Florida.

I lived in central MT for many years, still oftentimes travel there, sometimes even in the wintertime.

Back in those days walnut shells were often embedded in the tire rubber in order to increase traction. Those were maybe good for one season, but did the job extremely well. If, as you say, winter specialty tires are softer, or remain more resilient in the COLD, how is it that have the same tread wear mileage rating as my summer only tires??

Have you ever seen a traction test of one vs the other on packed snow or ice...?

    I thought not.

    Read this:

  2. An incandescent bulbs knows when it’s about to blow??? I always thought the filament is either intact (continuity) or broken (no continuity)

I may have to relearn my ohms law.

    Yeah, I wasn't being funny.

When there is less of a load on a signal flasher, it will cycle faster. That is why he is getting a fast blinker.

    Just change the bulb.

  3. I had mine done today as well took 3.5 hours

quoted from the paper work, my info is a little different, but not much.

Cause: Replace Intermediate Shaft Seal as per TSB 092507A = Replace Intermediate Shaft Seal

    TSB 62372 W

    1 - 8T4Z*7275*DC Kit - Seal

    1 - *5qMC* Mercon V Bulk

    FC: L85 D8

    Part# 8T4Z*7275*DC

I did some searching and found the difference between the two part numbers and TSB numbers.

It seems the TSB and Part number used on mine included somthing called a (ptu cover seal),

  4. Had it done today, brought it in at 8:00 am was given a loaner to use. Got a call around 1:00pm, job completed. The dealer told me its always the right PTU seals. I had no burning smell on the way home. The part number and tsb is on the paper work, I will post it when I remember to grab it from the car.

    Got my paper work:

    TSB 09-25-7

    Part # 8T4Z 7275 CC

  5. I'll let you know Wed. Afternoon

  6. Too soon to tell. However when the seal went originally it was a fairly significant leak. Leaked out 1 qt of fluid in a 2 mi ride from the parts store, hence I had roadside tow it in. My $0.02 - let the service department know that you know this is a design problem and you have read up on it. Ask them for a loaner because it will take time to get the part and approval. Not necessarily the service dealer's fault. Do not hesitate to call Ford as well - they know all too well it is an issue.

  7. It's seems most of the problems people are having are with the dealers. I guess I'm lucky, my dealer was straight up with me and offered me a a loaner with out having to ask. They told me it was the third redesign and it will take 2 or 3 hrs to do.

I can't ask for better service than this!

  8. Went to the dealer today for oil change and to to check for the leak. The told me I had the infamis ptu leak. They told me they have the third re-desighn seals and asked me if I wanted to have the repair done. I asked them how they were, and they said that this desighn has just become redally avalable and so far they did about 9 and so far none returned. I told them let's go for it. Next Wednesday there going to do the job, they said it's about a 3 hour job but still gave me a loaner. I wasn't expextig that but thanked them.

Hopfully Ford has a handle on this and we can go fowrard. If not I'll wate for the next fix. I trust Ford and am sure they will come up with a fix.

It seems most of the problems people report is with dealers, I guess I'm lucky.

I love the 2011 pictures and will get one. (Hopefully)

  9. Personally, I like that Ford is not trying to sweep the 'heater core' problem under the rug...in my mind, this shows Ford is committed to customer satisfaction, and I'd even say quality.

....had to have a bearing replaced at 40,000 miles. that was six months ago Now my warranty just ran out and it is doing it again. Is it normal for bearings to only last 20 thousand miles?..

What kind of bearing? 40k wouldnt that have allready been out of warranty? How many miles now?

  10. Why are you even posting on this thread ? You have adding nothing for the OP's question but your stupid opinion and non-topic issue. Some of us were not as fortunate as you to get a good one. The wife constantly reminds me of my bad decision to get the Edge when she wanted a Murano but I insisted on supporting Ford in their time of need so I can not get over it until she does. I wish I had looked here before buying as I would not even be here now. Keep on topic or go away.

As you could see, the Murano (If you look over the post) Is not as perfect as you may of thought.

  11. I hear what you are saying

I spent money that I need for retirement on my Ford Edge hoping it would last well into my retirement. One year after the purchase I thinking how can I dump this vehicle.

    Smokin Edge

08 awd 31k miles no smell no problems.

You should see the trouble a friend of mine had with his Trail Blazer.

Just saying cars today are a complex piece of machinery and Parts will fail.
