  1. WOAH... Thanks mucho bro.. I was lookin in the wrong place entirely.. this LOOKS easy.. thanks..
  2. ...new yr.. brave new world.. so I am committed to install of a KICKY RIDE remote starter kit in my 2019 Edge SE ... cheap enough (like me) from Amazon.. so I have downloaded the PDF instructions.. and the warnings about working under the dash and blood offerings to the install gods.. .. apparently its tucked away quite well .. not near the OBD connector.. but like directly under the START push button to the right of the steering shaft.. Access.. now there is the ?... how to get that lower cowling off without #1. Destroying it forever.. #2. BLEEDING OUT !!! there are several Utube videos out there.. none specifically for the edge.. Most of the smaller panels SNAP into slots.. and I do see 2 screws.. but the airbag panel.. I can see it now BANG !!!!.. SO anybody got any 'sperience in these netherlands....??? I will update my post upon SUCCESSFUL installation... (it comes Fri)... if I ain't in some URGENT CARE getting sewn up..
  3. I got the AWD MALFUNCTION message about a week ago.. goes to dealer next week, no codes on OBD II, no loaner still under warranty.. 2019 SE 43kmiles no other symptoms... sux From what I can read it's the catch all error code.. so who knows..
  4. Greetings all.. ? has anyone removed the oval logo from the grille.. .? what is behind that.. does the "bar" go thru behind it.. I would love to see the look .. but looks like lots of work to get behind there.. .. here is the look now.. .and I put flat black gaffer tape on the "teeth" look of the grill.. and it has lasted 2 1/2yrs just fine.. thanks... and any pic appreciated..
  5. So I got the plain vanilla SE.. .? anyone got a suggestion on aftermarket / third party remote starter packages.. tia
  6. Woah.. even for a dealer to admit that it's "hearable".. is something.. pls keep us all posted.. thanks
  7. Thanks for the input.. so a bit more info.. how many miles ? Has it always done it? have you compared to other SAME vehicles?
  8. Well please keep the list posted... and naw.. I got 11000 miles.. and no shaking .. and the noise.. is.. was normal for this model in my side by side listen.. not saying you dont have a diff issue with the same symptoms... ? I really don't know how screwed up it could be and still get >33mpg ??? if it was a mechanical or electrical ISSUE.. a real malfunction I can't see how it could be that efficient and still be makin noises.....yea it makes a different noise than I am used to.. but never had a engine like this..
  9. Naw.. consensus seems to be it is normal... a side by side I did and they both sounded "sewing machine like"
  10. Yea, SEWING MACHINE sounds about right... actually I restored a BRITISH SEAGULL (a few really) and they sounded like a sewing machine as well.. It is a strange noise to get used to..
  11. Yes .. it is my first.. if it were a diesel I would have not questioned the click-clack.. but it is a first for me.. and since the engine cover was eliminated it probably does sound a bit louder. The real answer was having the sales type pull another SE alongside and they sounded alike..
  12. ??? what.. I am going to assume that is YOUR 2016 Edge.. . naw. nothing like that on my 2019 SE.. ... and the one the sales type pulled up to compare with mine.. it did not have one either.. ? could they have eliminated the cover... as a FEATURE for 2019.. Anyone have a engine cover on a 2019.. SE or any model ??? Pix please.. tia I did however get a rubberband ??? which was put on prior to the trans cooler line being connected.. ..see the pix.. I see the engines are made in Spain. so it might be a Spanish thing..
  13. ? ENGINE COVER... huhh... got a pix of a engine cover.. ? anyone..
  14. What the hell do I know.. I have had a company car since 1980..no need to get under the hood.... this is the first new car I bought since 73...my other car is a 1971 Jeepster commando .. thanks for the education.. I THINK !!!
  15. yea.. she sat overnite.. and it was up to the second (top) hole.. good thing for the holes my olde eyes could never make out the tiny scribes.. I think its the twin turbo's spoolin up.. nature of the beast.. there is some black soundproofing on the inside of the hood.. perhaps to cut down the volume a bit..
  16. Naw.. just checked.. its only got 400miles on it.. good thing the oil was not low..
  17. Well I went back to the dealer and had the sales type pull another SE along side.. IDENTICAL... and a local kibbitzer that was passing said that's the turbo rattle... ??? so I am satisfied.. attached is a file of the rattle.. VID_20190118_104133.mp4
  18. check out my two posts in the AWD forum.... the PTU is different for 2019 and MOVED ???
  19. 2019 EDGE SE.. AWD 400miles.. noticeable clicking and tapping this morning.. sounded like a sticky valve to this layman... SO I took it back to the dlr and the Svc Mgr put a ear to it and said they all sound like that.. its injector rattle...??? anybody else experience that..
  20. My Sales Associate got back to me with the following info.. " "SE AWD Edge does completely disconnect at all speeds, not just highway speeds. There is system of sensors, clutches, and algorithms that tell the vehicle when the AWD is needed. The 80%/20% I was referring to was how the system works when it’s needed. If the vehicles senses that there is any slippage, it will direct the torque to the correct wheels."
  21. " In fact new for 2019 is a disconnecting PTU that completely disconnects the rear when it's not needed for better mpg" ? Can anyone find that functionality in print in any Ford publication... it is not mentioned in my OWNERS MANUAL, PROPRIETARY STANDARD EQUIPMENT list for the SE, or my WINDOW STICKER. My Sales Associate was a bit fuzzy on this aspect and quoted a "approx 20/80% disconnect" at highway speeds.. TIA
  22. COLLINITE 20$ can will last many CARS.. its only wax, no cleaner or polish.. came from the aircraft industry where UV is a big problem .. follow the instructions then use less than recommended with a small damp sponge to apply and b4 dry towel off 2sq ft area max .. do 2 coats first time then one coat every year .
