  1. It looks like Wheels Express Inc has and 18x7 option with 5x108 pattern. I have an inquiry in to them about eh backspacing but their vehicle finder says they fit 17 Edge. Anyone else dealt with them and know the backspacing? Wheels Express link
  2. I used the Bumperplugs, kinda overpriced but if you care about color matching probably won't find it cheaper.
  3. Cool....one of my favorite subjects! I grew up in/around the aircraft industry. My Dad spent 20 years in the Air Force from 51 to 71 and then his entire career after that till 2012 in the private aircraft maintenance sector. He maintained everything from Lears to Jet Star, Citations, Hawker, Gulf Stream & many in between. He was well known in the industry for his sheet metal work and while based at G.O. Carlson airport in Coatesville PA he did some incredible work on some antique fighters that were/are based there. Tagging along as his kid I managed to score rides in some amazing machines....everything from Ed Shipley's of The Horsemen Aerobatic Team fame (was owner then) P-51D "Big Beautiful Doll" to his T-6 Texan. Sat in tail gunner position in an Grumman TBF-1 Avenger during a test flight to New Garden piloted by Al Sheaves. My Dad's boss during his final years was the owner of Synthes, Mr. Hansjörg Wyss (Hans to his friends) who brought home 2 retired Swiss military fighters. A Hawker Hunter and a De Havilland Vampire were the last 2 aircraft my Dad laid hands on for someone else. When he retired we purchased him a Bede BD-5 kit out of Florida that the previous owner had not completed in order to 'keep him off the streets', unfortunately he passed before completing it. Him being a certified A&P would have made it easy for him to complete but since I'm not one, I've taken to just tinkering with it and at some point will donate the air frame to a museum to use for display. Below pic of my truck at the time with the Hunter and Vampire in background.
  4. As I understand the oil pan, the dipstick is on it's own 'chamber' behind a one way valve. So I don't think you're in danger of it getting into any rotating parts but it may not be easy to get a hold of it to remove. If there's no metal to get a magnet to stick to, some double sided tape on a wood dowel may work. Wrap the tape securely so it doesn't end up in there as well.
  5. Hi Everyone, Recently picked up a 2017 Sport to replace our aging 2007 Honda Ridgeline, my wife's vechile. The Ridge just outlived it's usefulness for us and didn't make a wonderful commuter for her. The Edge on the other hand is just "wow" in comparison and the wife is very happy wiht the purchase. I run a small home shop business DarkStar Motorsports on the side and have been heavily into car modding since I started driving...let's say for quite some time now. Since 2000 I've specialized in Subaru mods/tuning/repair, before that I was into the custom truck scene and ran a highly modded 95 Chevy that I bagged and created custom parts for. I've owned a few Ford products before that....2 - 90 Mustangs (a GT & LX) that both were early adopters of Vortech superchargers ala Steeda and Saleen (made my own clones) and a modded 94 Taurus SHO. I hope to bring some useful info and from what I'm reading here so far, learn something as well. Was already poking around on the FB site so some of you may recognize the pics.
