My first 2000 miles were all city traffic. and I had poor shifting in low gears. I have noticed some considerable shifting improvement after I finally went on a 500 highway trip. Also, my gas mileage has objectively improved after the trip. I reset the mpg stats after each tank. And my last 2 tanks I’ve gotten about 22 mpg, as opposed to 19 before the trip. Could all be coincidence of course. But I’m feeling better about things.

I have "the morning bucks", and I always use 93 octane . My guess is that the problem is in the transmission, downstream of the engine. Although components are so inter-related today by software, a minor hardware issue in the transmission could cause the engine to be given inappropriate commands, in an attempt to compensate.

I have same issue with my 2019 SEL FWD 2.0L. Especially in the morning, it is like riding a bronco to work sometimes in low gears. Really disheartening. Has the update to the PCM helped anyone?
