  1. It's a photoshop, but a nice one. I can't remember where I first saw it, though.
  2. I'm going in for my 7,500 mile service soon and will mention the door latch idea. Anyone who's done it have any more specific info on what the procedure is or am I just telling them to take a look at the door latch? I'm 99.99% certain the sound is coming from the window rubbing against its weatherstripping. I can reproduce the noise by pushing along the top of the window from the inside while it's totally rolled up. It's louder while driving, but likely because the body flex has more force than my finger.
  3. Silicone worked for about a month. Noise back.
  4. Strange. All of the window switches and door lock switches light up in my '08 SE. You sure Ford just didn't forget the bulbs in your Edge? :P
  5. Back to the topic of bumper protectors, I actually really like the Ford version. It's not very thick, so it's not meant for real heavy duty work, but it suits my purposes and I like the look of it.
  6. Success! Got some silicone spray lube and sprayed the hell out of the inside of the window frame. Sound is now gone.
  7. They did spreay some kind of lubricant on the old wetherstripping, and sprayed some kind of silicone inside them, but no luck with that either. I think I will take your suggestion and get some and try the window seals and tracks, as well. Thought about taking the door panel off to investigate myself. You've done it before, correct? Is it only held on by those screws, or are there some of those one-time use plastic push pins that were all over my old Mustang's door panels? I did have a clunking noise in the Edge when the window was rolling up at it's apex, as well. It was a loose regulator screw with me.
  8. Any luck tracking it down. It sounds eerily similar to an issue I'm having with my 2008. A popping creaking/noise, kinda sounds like styrofoam being rubbed together, coming from somewhere in the drivers door or window at lower speeds. The rear driver's door does it as well. I've had into the shop twice trying to find out what is causing it, with no luck. The replaced the outside trim piece that goes along the top of the door. (Not the window frame, that long horizontal piece that starts at the mirror and goes along the top of the door.) No help there. Today they replaced all the weatherstripping in both drivers doors, thinking maybe they were sticking and rubbing against each other somehow causing the noise. Thought it might be because if you crack the doors open (where they're still latched but not full closed) the noise goes away. No luck with the new weatherstipping. The tech has been extremely helpful trying t ofind out what it is, but the service manager took a ride in it today and essentially declared that it's normal noise from body flex and gave me the impression I should just live with it. Tech doesn't think it's mechanical, but we can't seem to isolate it. He made some kind of posting on an internal ford service to see if anyone else around the country has dealt with a similar problem. Hopefully he finds something out. Low speed, uneven surfaces, when the body might flex, I get a noise. Highway speeds and I don't notice a thing. If I roll the window down just a little bit while it's creeping along, the noise also goes away. It drives me insane, but I got no ideas what might be causing it. Perhaps it is normal body flex making things creak, but it didn't do it when I first bought the car in December. Anyone here got any ideas?
  9. I agree. We need both sets of numbers, with and without tune, to help judge the effectiveness of the product. Perhaps they've been reluctant to supply the numbers for the CAI only, as all the gains are really coming from the tune and they're just trying to get a a couple hundred more bucks out of us.
  10. Probably a stupid question, but I'm not the most electrically inclined when it comes to automotive wiring. About 10 years ago I bought a set of aftermarket fog lamps for my 5.0 LX and just spliced them into the wiring for the parking lights. They worked fine, but I'm assuming that isn't an option for the Edge?
  11. Looks...interesting. I agree with the others that for the price, they could have provided better clamps, hoses, etc. It is strange that Steeda won't provide any numbers for the product. Oh well, for the cost, I'm sticking with my K&N. Probably just as efficient in the end and hundreds cheaper.
  12. Thankfully, I wasn't charged for the labor. They only charged 30 bucks to download the update. They said that now they know how, it'll be an hour for anyone else interested. Not sure what they'll charge in the future. Colonial Ford in Danbury, CT, for those interested.
  13. The 911 assist and Vehicle health upgrade has been available for a week or so. Had mine done today. The vehicle health report is pretty cool. Ran my first one tonight and it even let me know I needed to buy gas. As a side note, it took the dealer 4 hours to do the upgrade. I was their guinea pig for this one and it took four tries to get it to install. Something to do with the Sync and radio not wanting to communicate with each other. Luckily a Ford Engineer showed up and guided them through the install.
  14. I've been pleased with my Edge's highway performance, acceleration, lane changing, etc, given that it's a 4,000 pound brick. To each his own, though. I did, however, lose a red light race to a new Taurus the other day, (must have relapsed and thought I was in my old 5.0!) so maybe I need to rethink things. :P
  15. I've deduced that my creaking may have something to do with my window. If you roll the wiondow down even a slight bit, the creaking sound goes goes away.
