Just did this on my '12 SEL . Driver's headrest won't stay up. I reclined the back forward as far as I could to get the headrest out and tug on the panel.
I popped out the bottom edge of the panel; dropped it a few inches and voila!
The plastic sleeves have 2 tabs on the bottom where I could feel them and squeezed enough for me to firmly pull up with the other hand. Yaye!
The retainers were well distorted. I popped them out of both sleeves with a small screwdriver and opened the gap with my fingers reassembled/tested them on the headrest.
Reassembled parts in the seat back. Works like a charm. Big saving of having to replace these parts.
Thanks to you both here on this discussion.
Short but the solution was sweet.
Hello Gadget,
You make reference to a FORScan here. Is this a diagnostics tool or the downloaded app to work with a universal OBDll reader?
I need to restore my parking gridlines after a camera replacement. my $20 elm327 won't support it. Thanks
