  1. I have this problem (AWD Malfunction) with my 2019 Titanium. Its been at the dealership last two months more than in my garage and still not fixed. Looking for some thought or ideas I'm getting desperate. I started getting some "lighting system failure alerts on FordPass about 18 months ago. Details showed "A burned out bulb or an electrical system problem may exist with the exterior lamp system". All the lights were working and I wasn't having any other issues so just ignored it. I'd get this alert about once every 2-3 months. About 12 months ago I started hearing a banging noise coming from the rear end when I was taking a turn from a dead stop. Dealership replaced the rear diff fluid and that seemed to fix the issue. On Dec 19, 2021 I got a "Powertrain Malfunction / Reduced Power" and "Lighting system Failure". Both light went away in a day. In January 2022 I got the "AWD Malfunction Service Required" light come on the dash and I only have front wheel drive and reduced power. Took into dealership and they replaced the rear drivetrain sensor. Light came back on the next day. Went back into dealer and then they replaced the rear diff unit. Light came back on the next day. Went back into dealership and they found a bad electrical wire. AWD Malfunction light stayed off for 4 days and came back on tonight. Worst part is we've been driving in the worst part of the winter for the last 4-6 weeks with no AWD. This is beyond an inconvenience now...
  2. Thanks. I figured 235's were ok I'm guessing thats what the SE and SEL's come with. Thinking 235/60R18/XL 107T for size. Anyone know anything about the new Michelin's ? I've always used the Latitude X-ice Xi2 on our SUV's and loved them but Michelin just came out with a new X-Ice SNOW winter tire and I'd like to try those. Nobody seems to have them in stock yet. https://www.michelin.ca/en/tires/x-ice/x-ice-snow.html
  3. I'm looking to buy the new Michelin X-ice SUV Snow tires. I have a 19' Titanium. Stock tires are P245/55 R19. I'm going to go with 18" for the winter. Looking for suggestions / opinions on whether its better to go slightly narrower with 235's instead. I know thinner tires are better in the snow but is this car big and heavy enough that it needs the width of a 245 tire ?
  4. Mine was a previous rental with about 9500 miles. Yes definitely worse when engine is cold. No way Ford's touching this. First its not a safety concern and second all manufactures are suffering bigtime right now with this pandemic the last thing they care about is hard shifting on less than 1% of their fleet. I also didn't notice this on my test drive however I only drove the car for 10mins and really your thinking of so many things when test driving a vehicle its easy to miss something. Also the salesman had the car and engine warmed up for me before my test drive so it might not have been as noticeable then. I'm more concerned about some of the paint defects on the platinum white.
  5. Were just not driving enough right now so I can't say its getting better or worse. I drove it briefly a couple days ago and nothing has changed. I guess I can live with it if I know its not going to lead to any mechanical failures down the road. We extended the warranty to 6yrs 120,000kms so I shouldn't worry too much.
  6. I currently purchased a 19' Titanium with about 10,000 miles on it. I'm in Canada. Totally have this problem. I read through this entire thread God bless a few of you who have been trying to fix this with Ford's suspect service departments. I think the biggest issue is the average person either isn't going to notice this problem or they notice it but don't really care or think its just normal. Mainly "non car" people is the nicest way to say it. So its not getting reported enough for Ford to really care. I've been waiting for this pandemic to be over so I can take it into the dealership for this now I wonder if its even worth it. I guess I'll call Ford CS and put my complaint in. Pathetic anyone has to deal with this especially with a $51K CDN vehicle.
  7. Good to know thanks. Still strange you don't see that on alot of vehicles anymore.
  8. I do a shoulder check everytime but also look at the rearview and side mirrors so I'm not always looking at the side mirror to see the light on. Shoulder checks aren't 100% especially in certain vehicles. I don't like audible alerts myself but for that rare time it sounds and avoids a potential accident its worth it IMO. At least have the option to turn it on or off like you do with lane keeping, which I turn off. Agreed having the center stack display activated would be a big distraction. Didn't know Honda did that.
  9. I recently noticed something similar not sure where its coming from seems back of car anyways. Never fails I can't own a vehicle that doesn't do this. They must put the cheapest possible speakers in cars these days. We haven't been doing alot of driving lately obviously so I haven't had time to diagnose the issue. I hate the thought about taking the door apart I feel it will never go back together perfectly again. Also not sure if its something covered under warranty.
  10. I will check this thread out now thanks.
  11. I've only owed my 19' Titanium for a couple weeks but I've noticed from day 1 when accelerating at slow to moderate speeds there's a chugging feel while picking up speed. The faster I accelerate the less I notice the chugging feel. Car was 6 months old (15,000kms) when I bought it. Anyone else notice this with their 19' or 20' ? Transmission ? Car sounds and drives fine otherwise. I'll likely take it in to have it looked at but wanted to know if it was a known possible issue with this cars.
  12. I know at least in Canada to get those wheels you must have the Elite package.
  13. Welcome and nice color. As for the Elite package I don't think its something you can add after the car has been built. You already have the wheels that come with that package which are way nicer looking than the standard Titanium wheels. If your looking to match the tint in the front windows with the back I'd go with a 25% shade.
  14. Yes I see the light come on in the mirror I'll have to get used to that the Hyundai did both. I don't get how any designer with any sense would think an audible warning isn't necessary when you check your blind spot your side mirror is only one of three spots your checking so your not always looking at your mirror. Agreed the lack of express rear windows is curious. Probably some rarely ever use it but with young kids in the back seat I use it regularly. And its not like Ford doesn't already do it in their other vehicles I had that feature in my 13' Fusion and now in my 17' Fusion. Same buttons basically the exact same interior and dash. And your right were spoiled now, not that long ago we were manually cranking our windows up and down. My ambient lighting is set to the highest level. Its the same with the express windows, Ford felt the need to put these options in a Fusion but not a fully loaded Edge...
  15. Yes I forgot about the horn to add to my list. However I can live with that its barely used. I did also notice no hood insulation which I thought looked weird.
  16. I've only had the car now for a couple weeks and except for a few dislikes I love this car. Looking for feedback as too why Ford clearly messed up on a few things IMO. - No beeping sound for Blind Spot Monitoring. Our Hyundai would make a beep sound if it sensed you were changing lanes with a car in your blind spot. Not something I rely on alot since I'm pretty good at checking my blind spot but it saved me a couple times. Whats the reason for no audio warning ? - Driver seat not low enough. I like my seat as low as it can go. I'm only 5'11" but I find I have to duck my head getting into the car, not good. - No express rear windows and they don't go down all the way. Wasn't that like a child proof feature cars had back in the 70's and 80's was shocked to see it on a 2019 vehicle. Also why no express up/down rear windows like I have in my Fusion ? - No ambient light in back seat. Again, my Fusion has the interior ambient light option and it lights up the floor of the back seat. Nothing on the Edge WTF.
  17. I'm all for adding accessories but these I don't see the point unless maybe your a smoker or have the need to open your windows alot when its raining. Having said that WeatherTech makes a great product. I believe the WeatherTech's clip into the window no 3M tape needed like the Ford OEM ones.
  18. Hello everyone. Just purchased a 19' Edge Titanium with 301A. It was a demo with 15,000 kms on it. Thing looks brand new but saved about $15K off MSRP. Its Platinum white same as my 17' Fusion Sport. Mods I had done day one were, OEM Splash guards, hood deflector and cargo tray. Ordered Husky floor liners first and second row they are to be delivered tomorrow. Also had the front windows tinted to match the rest of the car. I am familiar with the 2.0L Ecoboost I owed a 13' Fusion prior to my 17' Fusion Sport. Would have preferred the Edge ST but couldn't justify the extra money plus I already drive a Fusion Sport as my daily. I know I'll have some questions here soon I've only driven the car once since taking ownership five days ago.
