  1. I'm with TL Kelly. "Best to keep your mouth shut and let people think you are a fool than to open it and prove it" I have learned that more than several times through my life of 81 years to my regret!!
  2. Is there such a thing as a 2007 Ford Edge AWD Speed/Rpm Correlation Table based on a straight and level road driving in overdrive (6th gear)??. I find that my Edge at 60 mph is turning 1600 rpm and at 70mph is turning 1900 rpm. Do any of you folks out there have any correlation figures???
  3. My 2007 AWD Edge has had a "whine" between 40-45 mph since I got it in March. The Dealer agreed it was a whine. They recently changed the Power Transfer Unit with instructions from Technical Service Bulliten 07-11-13. Unfortunately I still have the "whine"!!! Any thoughts or information would be appreciated.
  4. I have a similar problem with my 2007 AWD Edge. Going on a downgrade on cruise control at 60 mph it from time to time will down shift a couple of gears where the rpm will top out to 3500 On climbing a twisty grade it will hunt to find a gear and can either under rev or over rev for a couple of seconds. My previous cars like my 2005 Ford Escape just picked out a lower gear and stuck to it smoothly. Did Ford goof on this new type transmission?? S.P. SDchmitt
  5. Problem occurs intermittently whenever on a highway after 30-45 minutes of driving. I do not think temerature affects it as the car interior temperature is "comfortable". Happens on straight highway driving and not when turning to any significant amount. The owner's guide shows the radio is an "AUDIOPHILE AM?FM IN DASH-SIX CD/MP3 SATELLITE SOUND SYSTEM. Thanks for your response. If you find out anything more from your other Techs please let me know. S.P. Schmitt
  6. Hi Devin, Maybe your the person that can help me with a radio problem in my 2007 Edge. I find that after driving and using the radio for 30 minutes or so it will lose its volume. Then to get the volume back I need to click the + button on the steering wheel. At other times the volume will suddenly explode to its highest volume which is distracting and scary. I then have to turn the radio off. This can happen with the Speed Voulme either engaged or disengaged. Can happen on the Sattelite band or FM or CD. The dealer says they can't find anything wrong so can not fix it. If you have any ideas I sure would like to Know. Thanks, Steve Schmitt sschmitt@bearvalley wireless.com
  7. I hear the same noise in my Edge and discovered if I just touch the brakes lightly, the noise stops. It only happens prior to the brake linings warming up, I think. Hope this helps.

  8. I get this "whine" without the radio being on and it is just in the 40-45 mph range. Actually I can live with it as long as it will cause no damage. But I am curious and concerned to know. Really is a great vehicle.
  9. I have had a new SEL AWD Edge for a month with about 800 miles on it now. I find that when driving between 40-45 mph I hear a low "whine". No such noise at any other speed. Have not heard this low level noise in any other Edge. Does anybody have an idea what might be causing this??? Thanks for any help to this newbie. sschmitt
