  1. I would like to know how to contact someone at Ford to express how very unhappy I am with the color "Light Sage Green". I love everything about my car, except the darn color!!! There is absolutely no green anywhere in my paint - it is the color of pewter or primer. We ordered my car from the dealer, so hated to refuse it upon delivery as we had already refused the first one! (Didn't have one of the options I had specified.) Have had it for 3 months now, and all I see is primer gray everytime I look at it. In the brochure at the dealer's, and also on the internet when the dealer pulled up the color, it definitely had a green tint which is absolutely non-existent in reality.:o Thanks BJ
  2. Ohmygosh - what a coincidence! You and my hubby are exactly the same age...mentally! We love our Edge, but I still hate the color. I ordered "Lt sage green" and it really and truly is pewter. They hemmed and hawed and told me if I looked at it in a certain light, I'd see the green tint. Naw....it's never happened. Maybe in the middle of a golf course, but even then, I doubt it. Sure wish I'd ordered something else. Jeanne
  3. Hubby towed a small tractor on Friday - brought the mileage down to the 15's... It sounds like you're pretty upset with your mileage - what does your dealer say? Ours is now up to 23+.... I'd have to say it's somewhat hilly around here...and also very cold as evidenced by the SNOW we had (in Texas!) on Saturday. Checking it manually is a good idea; will have to remember this the next time we fill up.
  4. Sorry can't help ya with the roof rail question... What color did you order?
  5. We're in East Texas - Tyler area (but didn't buy from the Tyler dealer). The Pacifica is a very nice car, but the rear visibility is severely hampered in that car...to the point of being dangerous...I think it's an issue for lots of folks. Love the sport feel the Edge has, plus the mileage is already better than the Pacifica and we've only got 330 miles on it! The ride is just as nice, if not better. The light sage green just isn't...my husband calls it primer gray....I really liked the Creme Brulee.
  6. What happened to the tv ads? I saw my last commercial about a week or so before I bought the car. (As I posted elsewhere, I never actually made the connection between the commercial and the car now parked in my garage......guess I'm slower than average or perhaps the Madison Avenue folks are targeting a different audience...which apparently worked!) Since my purchase I have really been watching for any kind of ads/commercials/print info, and haven't seen a thing!
  7. I can't believe you guys are waiting that long! We went to the dealer, liked the car, came back and told them what we wanted. He found one at another dealership and made arrangements to pick it up. Didn't even charge me. We got exactly what we wanted without going through the official "ordering". This dealer did the same thing for another new car (Chrysler) I bought a couple of years ago. What's the advantage to ordering direct?
  8. Brand new...paint barely dry (forgot the green tint on mine) Edge SEL+, FWD Mileage now at 21.5 with the miles at only 292. :happy feet: Sure didn't expect this! Talked to another Edge owner yesterday, and he has hit 28 MPG. Oddly enough, he has the type of personality that I think would have a lead foot. Edit: I should add that when I picked up the car, it had 180 miles on it - it was ordered from another TX dealer, and driven to mine. The mpg was 17.5 at the time of pick-up. I reset it, and the remaining miles are "mine"...and it's steadily increasing. I'm not a granny annie driver, but not a pedal-to-the-metal one either.
  9. There's an unexpected bonus to owning an Edge....people really notice the car! I know this didn't happen with the Pacifica, or any other car we've bought recently....I guess they were all downright boring. I've had the Edge out and about for only a couple of hours. In that short space of time, 2 people have stopped to look and talk about it! Both were really impressed - it's a rolling conversation piece. And that brings up another thing...do you know I watched the Edge commercial several times and never made the connection to this car until AFTER I bought it??? A guy stopped to look at it yesterday as I was just getting out of it...I told him it was the car that drove on the edges of buildings. He said, "Oh, it's THAT car????" I wonder if anyone else in America fails to get the connection. It was such a unique commercial that I was more in tune with what it would feel like to actually drive that way than looking at the car itself! Heysdad....WOW! I guess there's a freak out there for everything. Actually, I have wondered about things like that...hubby thought I was downright weird because if we ever left the car in the driveway, I would always make sure it was locked. Same with his pickup. I knew if someone thought twice about it, all they had to do was press a few buttons and they'd be in the garage...next stop, the inside of the house. Scarey. I'd love to post pictures but my digital is about ready for the Smithsonian. I'll give it a shot this weekend though - Edge going in to the shop today to get a hitch installed.
  10. I know what you mean...had a guy do a double take tonight right after I picked mine up. He walked by, stared at it (I was parked), and then turned around again to get a second look! Hubby drove it tonight for an errand - said he really liked the way it handled. Course he's at the wheel of a Peterbilt all day long, so I'm sure he appreciates the difference!
  11. Well, picked up my light sage green (not) Edge today - and love it! Hubby and I don't see a tint no matter what kind of sunlight...looked sideways, rightways, frontways, and everything but upside down. I think the Ford color engineers need new glasses. I'm coming to the Edge from a Pacifica, and there's a couple of things to get used to - 1) No link for garage door 2) No power for back lift gate That's all so far - only put about 15 miles on it today though - will do more tomorrow. I do like the way it handles - it's got a definite sporty feel to it...the Pacifica felt like a granny wagon. (Though I am one, I think I may have found the fountain of youth...lol) I'll keep you posted as we go along.
  12. Absolutely love that Pacifica - one of the nicest cars I've ever owned... BUT the rear visibility is downright dangerous...major issue! I hated parking in busy parking lots and had a few close calls backing up. Finally decided it was time to move on.... It's also not the most responsive car on the planet, if you know what I mean. Back to the Edge - was I dreaming, or is this the car built on a Volvo frame?
  13. Well, we went to pick up our "cool concrete" car this afternoon.....and we came back home in our Pacifica!!! And it wasn't even the lime green accents that did me in. The car was an SEL, and it was supposed to be an SEL +....this wouldn't have been such a big deal if hubby didn't have back issues. The SEL+ has the passenger seat with power - thus enabling him to get a certain degree of comfort when I drive. The dealer was royally ticked, and after the shouting match was over, we just decided it was a misunderstanding. He has another car ordered for us to pick up tomorrow - again, slightly more money. It's definitely an SEL + this time, as I went over the invoice this time line by line by line. And you know the funny thing? I was hanging around that car for a good 3 hours this afternoon - and the more I saw of it, the more I liked it!!!! (Well, except for the pink interior.) (Seriously though, this time the new car will have the camel interior - I guess I'll just have to get extra strength sunglasses for the glare.) Thanks for all the positive comments today!
  14. I am going to have to just stop worrying about it...the more I see of it, the less I like it. Sorry...I know you all are trying to help. One thing I do know though - I've wanted a sun roof for FOREVER - and the one in the Edge is just wonderful. I can hardly wait. Once I'm inside the car, I won't care what color it is anyway!
  15. Oh boy, this is so not what I wanted!!!! As positive as you both have been, I can tell it's not even going to be close to what's in the brochure. Dang...to think I had my pick of colors. Woulda, shoulda, coulda...... But of course I will have to "love it" since hubby will remind me from time to time that he wanted red.....
