  1. This is a well known and endemic problem on these vehicles. There's nothing broken per se, the door ajar sensor just sucks. You may be able to get it replaced for free under this Service Bulletin. https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2018/MC-10138508-9999.pdf I got my driver door fixed for free by the dealer, but they wouldn't do the rear door. Good luck!
  2. My dealer replaced the driver door ajar sensor a few months ago. Free under a Service Bulletin. Presumably you can do the same? https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2018/MC-10138508-9999.pdf They refused to replace my rear passenger door sensor under the recall and wouldn't quote me to do it otherwise.
  3. The same cover broke on my 2011 driver door after slamming it shut. That cover was a bit wobbly, and after a few days of driving my door came unlatched at 60mph! I pulled the door closed from inside but the door card was pulling off of the door! I had to roll the window down and reach out to the door handle and hold the door shut-ish while I pulled over. The lock cover had almost fallen off, and somehow pulled the door handle open too. Easy enough to "fix" and continue on my day. I figured I could just take off the cover trim piece and replace it later. Nope! It's the only thing holding the lock cylinder in! Without that piece, the lock can just fall out on the road and I don't want to imagine how much it would cost to get a replacement or re-key the car. I'm looking into replacing mine now of course. Any tips appreciated.
  4. Thank you for this thread. I have a 2011 Edge and had exactly the same problem. First a whining noise when turning hard left and some AC water dripping in the passenger footwell. A day later there was a sloshing noise behind the glovebox when waving the car left and right like a slalom. A few days later the fan died. I poured a bunch of dirty water out of my blower fan assembly and let it dry but it still doesn't work. At least it's easy to replace! Only 3 screws. I blew air up the drain hose with my shopvac like @GreatWyte suggested and immediately a liter of water drained out of the hose into my bucket. (Thanks for the warning!)
