  1. Figured it out... connected the battery post without the wire. Can I get a Homer "D'oh"!
  2. We have made sure the terminals are tight. We checked all fuses. Both inside and by the battery. All are fine. There are no lights, no seat moving up into place, doors won't lock, windows won't roll up... It really bites!
  3. I got my new amp for my new sub all wired up this afternoon. Now the car won't start! I'm not even getting that little click as though the batter were just low. Tried jump starting it to no avail. If you have an idea please let me know soon! I need my Edge! Is there some sort of re-set the battery button or something inside the car? I didn't find anything like that in the manual. Please send help!
  4. So we're putting in my new amp for my new sub. Got it all wired up to the battery and cables run and all. Now the car won't start! Don't even get that little click as though the batter were just low. Tried jumping it to no avail. If you have an idea please let me know soon! I need my Edge! Is there some sort of re-set the battery button or something inside the car? I didn't find anything like that in the manual. Please send help!
  5. edge22" - did you get it figured out? how does that huge blue emblem come out? Also, please post a link or picture of the new one you got, I'm looking for something like that. Thanks!
  6. This happened to me last week. Luckily I was washing the window and didn't get fuel all over me when the hose jumped out. This has never happened to me before. My Explorer did seem to have a different angle/better fit to the opening. I felt like a complete dummy so I'm glad this wasn't just me!
  7. Nope, :stop: 9 total in the Edge. Re-read that sentence you quoted please. Anyways, as far as the Audiophile system goes I have definitely been disappointed. I traded my '02 Exporer Limited in for the Edge and assumed I would love the sel+ audiophile sound system as much or more in the newer car. No such luck. First off Ford changed the company they get speakers from and the new one's are definitely a step down. I'm sure they saved money by doing so. As far as tweets in the A-pillars go, I took off the covers to inspect and you won't be able to run them there because of the air bags under the cover. I'm going to build little pods for my new ones to go on the top of the door in front of the defroster vent. But for now I've got the rear sub panel off and am building a new box. The stock box is made of ABS plastic and has the amp attached to it. With the space I will save by putting the new amp under the second row seat I can build a much bigger/sturdier box and will be able to put a 10" in. Don't get me wrong, you can get plenty of great sound from an 8", just not the way they did it. I'm just going bigger because I can. It is a neat way they built it but it is just way to boomy. It is not the crisp sound I grew to expect from my previous Ford. Obviously this is all subjective. I'm certain there are many who are totally happy with their system the way it is. Ford knows this and that's why they felt they could cut some corners with cheaper stuff. I'm a professional musician and probably listen to things with different ears than someone who just wants to rock out to Slayer or listen to talk radio; much love. I've attached a picture of the sub box and the space with it removed. I can update as my project progress'. Please post up if you've already put in a new sub of your own creation! Love ya and your Edges!
  8. I am bummed out. I ordered the cargo liner and they sent me the front mats to a Ranger. All I can figure is the person that pulled the box off the shelf must have a pickup with the Edge trim package! Now I have to wait for those to be returned so they can try and send me the proper part. I'll let you know!
  9. Sweet rims. I'm thinking about getting some Enkei's. Can you tell us how the ride is with bigger wheels... Do you notice any difference in the smoothness of the ride? Also, what brand tires did you go with and how much were they. Thanks!
  10. I'm curious about whether or not it affects the ride as well. Also, does the kit you bought only allow for that specific amount of drop? Could you go more or would you need to buy a different set? Thanks!
  11. The Ford All Weather Mats come in three pieces. Two seperate for the driver and front passenger with one rear mat that is all one big long piece. There is a picture of all three at the bottom of this auction: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...fromZR40QQfviZ1 Cargo liners are seperate. Ford makes a carpeted cargo logic system: http://www.partscheap.com/edge07.htm I have a dog and go to the beach a lot so I wanted a rubber mat for fur and sand collecting purposes. I just bought a Husky Cargo Liner last Friday. $75 w/Free Shipping and a coupon: http://www.stylinconcepts.com/parts.aspx?p...&brandid=61 I'll post up a pic and a review when it arrives. :yup:
  12. Just to throw another suggestion into the fire... I have the iCarPlay made by Monster. http://www.monstercable.com/productdisplay.asp?pin=3029 Their site shows it at $80 but I found it for $60 at Wally World. It charges as well and has the nice advantage of switching to a trickle charge when it's full. This is great since I do a lot of road trips and my last iPod would get so hot I couldn't touch it. The Plus model that I have also lets you choose any station to tune it to. The lower model has three presets that 'might' work in a big city with lots of stations. Anyways, I think the quality is good, certainly better than the tin-y satelite reception. :beerchug:
  13. I really love my Sirius. I've turned my whole family on to it and now I'm paying for 4 units a month! Luckily they get cheaper as you add on to your account. It makes a great gift if any of you are looking for ideas. The funniest part is that my Grandma always wants to ride with me so she can listen to it but won't let me install it in her car because she is convinced she won't be able to run it. "But Grandma, you only listen to NASCAR anyways..."
  14. Hey Yelnef, you sent me an email and I accidentally deleted it! The new hotmail sux... please write me back again buddy.
  15. Hey Yelnef, I'm interested in buying your all-weather mats. Shoot me a message about what you want for 'em. Thanks. :shades:
  16. I think this is an ugly color combo but you can get an idea of one version of this kit. Click on this link and peep picture 13: http://www.bdtrims.com/images/expls/index....ory=FRDĀ¤tPic=12 $150 on EBay ($225 on their own site/$270 for real wood/fiber) http://www.dashtrims.com/dash-kits.php?mod...n=Show+Products In my research I've found kits that vary from 7 pieces all the way up to 39 pieces. I guess you get what you pay for! I'm asking for the real carbon fiber version for my birthday and I'll definitely post pics when I get it sooner or later. Cheers
  17. Has anyone tried adding one of these dash kits yet? http://www.autoanything.com/dash-kits/71A1...px?v_id=2582098 I'm thinking of adding the Black Cheerywood to my Ebony interior. I am wondering if it would look as good as the grey looking wood trim that my Limited Explorer had stock. I've installed a similar style faux wood set in my Dad's Mustang and it looked beautiful. This brand has some great reviews plus I'm sure you could get it would be cheaper on EBay? Post some pix if you got 'em!
  18. If your car came wired with it then it's really easy. You just call up Sirius and tell them your SID number on your head unit. If it's not wired already then it's more complicated because you need to have the antenna installed.
  19. Hey jfeaga, Check this link out. http://www.icarkits.com/advanced_search_re...e=1&sort=4d I had this set up in my Explorer and might go this route with my Edge. It plugs into the back of the stock radio. It was definitely cd quality sound and includes all the cable and instructions to do it yourself. Mine was $150 but you get $20 off if you send them your fm transmitter. Cheers, Jill
  20. Hey svoman, can you post a close-up of what the velour fabric is like too? I have a black interior but I'm leaning towards a smoke or grey mat instead of flat black. Is it only costing you shipping to trade out colors with JC Whitney? Thanks!
