  1. WOW, that is totally abysmal! How in the world do you get that terrible gas mileage? I used to get that with my '79 HighBoy 400 C.I. V8, 4wd with 35" mud tires and 410 ring/pinions fully loaded. My 08 AWD Limited Edge gets 19.5 worst case, and best so far with no trips over 20 miles is 22.5. These are calculated values not computer averages (although my computer is pretty close, give or take a mpg). Do you live in NY or LA in bumper to bumper gridlock all day?
  2. Mine is NOT foldable (accordion type) but rather a sheet that gets rolled up. It's quite thick, and fits and functions very well. The rolling takes a couple of extra seconds, and a little bit of space (sorry front passenger), but I really like it's functionality. :yup:
  3. I got mine from my local Ford dealer. It was from Intro-Tech, and cost $25 (from Ford). The fit is very near perfect. The only "downside" is that you have to roll it up (I roll mine up inside out, makes it fit that much better). Storage size is about 4-5" diameter and the height of the windshield, which makes it slightly less convenient if you have people in the back in and out a lot. But they can just put it in back and get it out for you when you arrive. Easy and quick to put up and down. I love it, and would buy another one. Good luck :happy feet:
  4. Welcome! :beerchug: You'll love it here...and your new Edge! :banvictory:
  5. Mine is fantastic thus far. Plenty of flow, plenty cool...in fact very quickly after startup (5 mins) I am adjusting it so it is not so cold. I live in Utah and the summers are between 85 and 100, so far it's been in the low 90's with no probs at all. :beerchug:
  6. Welcome! You'll love it here, almost as much as you'll love your new Edge! Tell us about it.
  7. slightly off topic, but how do you like your HID? And may I ask how much $
  8. Never towed a clamshell, but I've seen Edges towing single axle trailers full of ATV's. It's characteristics should be the same from an Explorer to an Edge I would think. They are more closely linked to the trailer itself is my vote.
  9. So I'm assuming pop rivets? I don't have one, although I suppose I could locate one. Thanks
  10. It should handle it no problem. It is rated for 3500 lbs and a tongue weight of 350 lbs. The sway is going to be mitigated more by your trailer and hitch height. If your trailer is double axle you should have zero problem, but even single axle should be fine if your trailer has a slight rake to it, in other words, if the nose is slightly lower than the rear end. :yup:
  11. Can you program the cover or the moonroof to open or close with just one touch? I kinda find it annoying that I need to hold the button until it fully closes/opens every time I get in/out. I'd like to keep the interior protected when I'm not in it, but enjoy the light/sun when I am.
  12. AWD totally rocks in the Utah winters as well as the off road camping/hunting. Can you accomplish the same things with a slow cautious thinking person in a well equipped and properly weighted FWD? No, but close. The thing is with AWD it just does what you say, and not what you don't with a larger factor of safety or level of comfort. Here in Utah, there is frequently black ice on overpasses etc, and the AWD just handles it and you never know, whereas those without are the guys you see on the side of the road in the ditch upside down. If you live in Arizona and never go offroad, you probably don't need it. As for me the cost and 2 mpg I give up is totally worth it the first time it snows! :happy feet:

WAY too much gap in the wheel well...you need to bottom out when going over bugs or it's not cool...
  14. Dude, your Edge looks nice with the rims...but the grill? Blacked out?? The grill is one of the best parts...even though, it still looks unique and interesting.
  15. My question is: How big a pain is it to put it back on if you change your mind...or the cops change it for you?
  16. I have an 08 Limited with the tow package and I have a 4 pin connector located immediately left of the receiver. Hope this helps. :D
  17. I'm thinking if these wipers are meant to clean gunk off the window, then it is a good thing you have access to clean them, otherwise they would just fill up with stuff and stop working? I've only owned mine for a week, but haven't noticed a problem yet.
  18. Thanks BB, I think I found the problem. The solution was very easy - read the manual. It basically had me reprogram the position 1 and the FOB together. It took about 6 seconds, piece of cake. I'll have my wife do hers the same way, and we're both set up ready to go. Love my edge! JohnSix54
  19. Love my new 08 edge limited. Love it! But having a small issue I'd like to resolve. I let my wife use my key, and she set up the driver memory seat to fit her on setting 2. Now when I use my remote function key to unlock the vehicle, the seat moves back to the rearmost position possible (not just back a little from where I drive it. When I insert my key, it does not move into the #1 position like I think it is supposed to. How do I reset this to remain in the position it was when I got out, and then to go back into my driving position when I insert my key? Thanks, JohnSix54
