  1. The problem for me was solved by replacing the Sync Module. See your dealer.
  2. On the other hand, you can still order the MKX with a Nav system and no Vista Roof.
  3. Ordered that way. Both units were built to order. However, it does appear that you must take the Vista Roof to get the Nav system for all future orders.
  4. I had a 2007 SEL Plus with Nav and no Vista roof. I currently have a 2008 Limited with Nav and no Vista roof. It is definitely an orderable combination.
  5. Speaking with level 2 support yesterday, they suggested that Keyspan cable that has both a miniplug and a dock connector is a good workaround until the Sync software is updated. Anyone try this?
  6. Well, my 3 iPods all have the tested firmware release on them, and the problem still exists. Speaking with level 2 support yesterday, they suggested that Keyspan cable that has both a miniplug and a dock connector is a good workaround until the Sync software is updated.
  7. I have tried 3 different Apple branded cables and 3 different iPods, and the "removed" behavior occurs consistently and intermittently. I am waiting for a software fix, but am curious if the folks that reported the replacement of the Sync module resolved the probem are still having no issues.
  8. Keep us posted, as I have the problem and it comes and goes with days of flawless functioning in between.
  9. There is an update on the Syncmyride website that I just installed...
  10. Are you a pioneer salesman? Brentwood Audio? Aftermarket is ok, but some people like the idea of buying factory integrated technology.
  11. I was missing a large number of mine until I discovered that if they were missing any data in the Artist, Album or Genere fields, SYNC would not see them. After cleaning up my tags, all of my music is now seen by SYNC.
  12. I bet you have the NAV radio... Pressing the voice button activates the voice system in the head unit, not SYNC. When you then navigate to Phone or User Device options, control is handed off to SYNC. Raising the volume level for the voice prompts on the Nav system menu will match the level of SYNC much more closely.
  13. If you have the Nav head unit, you need to get to the voice options menu tree first. At the main menu say help, and you will be able to go to Voice Options, where you can set the interaction mode.
  14. Sync is head unit specific. If you have Nav, it is closely coupled with it. By the way, adding nav at the dealer, using the OEM setup, is impossible. If it was me, I would not take the vehicle unless it has all the correct options. Getting a vehicle ordered correctly is a minimum dealer expectation Rodger 2008 Edge Limited 2007 MKX
