    What about EcoBoost?
  2. You are correct, there are several other sites out there for the EDGE/MKX owner but they are almost dead. This site is almost there itself tho, but it could pick up with news of the 2011s redesigns out there. Sadly ... if the EDGE/MKX were Japanese or European vehicles I'd bet serious money that the traffic on this site would be substantially higher! (Americans love muscle cars, not so much practical cars and the posting bears that out) There would be waaaaay more pics of vacations/mods/before & afters/wash & waxings with the EDGE/MKX. There would be serious on going discussions of mods to engines, suspensions, electronics, brakes, paint jobs and upholstery. Just to name a few. Then again ... maybe Ford/Lincoln Mercury got the EDGE/MKX just soooo near perfect that there really isn't much to say or do to it? I know this much tho ... I have been a Honda fan since I could drive, and have owned several of them as well. BUT, this CUV will be the vehicle to take me out of my Honda and put me into a Ford/Lincoln Mercury for the first time ever and I might not ever look back! (Especially with the ECOBOOST engines coming out next year! :happy feet: Vroom Vroom V8 power while sipping gas like a V6 should! )
  3. This site isn't as active as you or I would wish it to be. I for one think that the wood panels should be easy to remove. But I speak without any experience. The whole door panel might have to be removed to do so if it isn't just glued on. I have a question for you ... how wide is the rear cargo area? Would a full 4x8 sheet of plywood fit between the wheel wells?
  4. Congrats. I'm holding off to see what the 2010/2011 MKX looks like, but I think a used 2007 MKX is in my future ... I like the wood trim!
  5. Looks like the bustle found on the MKT will be on the MKX as well. I don't know if that's a good design or not. I hear it looks better in person than in pictures. Also as others have noted the same split grill (smiling skull) will be on the MKX as well ... just somewhat smaller, more MKZ or MKS like. (better balanced out) *** The bustle of the MKT isn't going to be on the new MKX. ***
  6. Funny tho, the MKX brochure has three or four times the pages. I guess it's the difference of a lux brand, but I dunno. I'm used to seeing more pics and pages in these things. I'm going with a fully loaded GREY 2007 MKX once I'm ready to pull the trigger.
  7. This is my first year for looking at the EDGE/MKX and I am dissapointed with the thin brochure. Were the previous years thin as well. Is Ford saving money or something? If I were running the advertisement campaign I would offer a contest to EDGE/MKX owners to send in pics of their vehicle somewhere scenic, or being at a fun/interesting event, show it in action, etc. etc. The winners would get their pics used in ads and in the brochure, and maybe free gas/maint. or discounted accessories? Some of the pictures on this site are just as good if not better than the ones in the thin brochure. Oh yeah, I've narrowed down my decision to a 2007 MKX with everything. Now the color choice (Black, Silver or Grey ... hmmm)
  8. The Edge/MKX siblings are the logical evolution of the Honda CRV. I do see some needed improvements in the Edge/MKX siblings, but they can be overlooked for now. I love the shape and style of both enough to get one (I haven't decided which one tho) over my 15 year loyalty to Honda. I could almost get one of each fully loaded if I bought 2007 models of either instead of getting a fully loaded 2010 MKX! Hmmm :party2: One for work and one for play?
  9. Yeah, it's not a deal breaker. I just like the idea of having the option of opening just a hatch when you don't want to expose the whole back end.
  10. I hope the rear hatch window opens seperately this go around.
  11. I like the direction the grill is taking if so. I hope the rear hatch window opens seperately this time around.
  12. Well, I kind liked the older grill better. The new grill seems a bit too tall and "heavy" for lack of a better word. All they needed to do with the old grill was get rid of the small square (french fry maker) grating and replace it with a thick (diagonal) wire mesh similar to this sketch. The interior dashboard and instrument panel needs updating with more digital flash/splash. Maybe changing the color of the upper dash or the material would lessen the reflection glare in the windshield too.
  13. If it is very light the glas folks should be able to buff it out. I would think they would have some sort of polishing agent for that sort of thing as windshields often get pinged and nicked by small grains of sand or grit all the time.
  14. The search button at the top of the page should help. But don't sweat it. Just off hand I would guess that the seats should be able to interchange. I notice the very bottom sections of the front and rear bumpers of the Edge and the MKX should be inter changeable too if you want to get the reflector of the MKX onto the Edge.
  15. Hi guys and gals. I'm new here, (of course) just looking around while I decide on whether or not to get an Edge or MKX. I'm leaning towards the Edge tho because of the interior dash has a nicer look (to me) but I like the MKX's front end a little better. Both grills leave much to be desired but I think I can fix that with aftermarket options or maybe painting it? Saw some interesting aftermarket items on Ebay that would make mine stand out when and if I get one. I wish the D pillar window vented and the rear hatch window opened independently from the hatch. Also the door mirrors should have turn signal indicators. (maybe with the 11/12 refresh) Well, I think that's all for now.
