Back to normal again , today I had my brake booster replaced, front disc brake pads and oil/ filter change. Running smooth with good braking system now. It was difficult to removed and replaced due to its limited space and deep. This time it is outside the dealer. I watched the whole operation done on my ford edge. It tooks about 2 hours including brake pads replacement and oil change. I noticed also that the rear brake light was on, a melted. Technician informed and he just adjusted the switch on the pedal.

On my first few years, I got irritated with the sound, keep reporting with the dealer, could not fix it. You don't know when it will come especially when you are with the dealer, no evidence. But, anyway, after a long time, it was just disappeared up to now. I even posted this long time ago.

Hi, my 2008 ford edge brake booster again having hissing sound when press down to floor, and it's not working good. As per your post, seems you able to replaced your brake booster without hazzle. Can you share with me the step by step or video?Sending to dealer, it is very expensive for their labor cost. Appreciate your kindness. Regards, Manny

Yes, it was very scary especially we are approaching the round about, lucky there was no car entering the round about, so we continuously running through the round about. Not flushing brake fluid regularly. Need to replace again brake booster.

checked with my buddies and was advise to leave the car at the company car park. Done, car was then park and waiting to be picked up tomorrow early morning, less traffic.

Ford edge 2008 - Braking system not working good, might be again my brake booster, almost 5 years since I replaced. The same problem happen to me this morning. Approching round about with volvo ahead braking and brake pedal get hard halfway,release pedal car accelerate, pump again hard, release and pump until slow down. Thanks God nothing happen after work need to check and drive slowly and carefully.

After 4 days, glad I got back my ford edge. They replaced the brake booster and it's okay now. Brakes functioning fine. Can have peace of mind while driving.

I brought my car to the service center and explain to them my problem, As per the sercice representative, he said it might be the booster or a leak, they told me to leave the car . And now, no car until saturday or sunday. I hope they could fix it in a very short time. Let you know after they fix it.

I drove my ford edge 2008 limited for 42k km now and was so satisfied with its performanced, spacious cabin interior and fuel economy. For two days now, I'm experiencing a braking abnormalities, when applying a brake, it's tough/hard then suddenly loss pressure and then back again to normal which make the car to jerk on stopping. It seems to be abnormal to any braking system. Today, I called up the dealer that I'm bringing in the car for a quick check to find out what was wrong with the brake system. Do, anybody experienced this kind of braking problem? Glad to hear any comments.

Dear all, I had my 2008 limited and wish to have my tailgate door to be converted to automatic same as for 2009 SEL model. But, when I asked the dealer garage representative if they can install same to my car and he said ca not be installed. Is it true that on 2008 limited you ca not install or make it automatic. Did anybody else tried to convert their tailgate door to an automatic?Appreciate if you can share if any.

Good day to all, On my last shop visit 20,000km check, I had my left hand brake tail light bulb replaced due due it was busted and socket was partially melted. They replaced the busted bulb and is now okay. But, I didn't check if they also replace the socket. I should have asked them before I got my car. So, seems this is normal to all ford edge or this should not? manny

Okay, at least it is working fine now, did you experience or heard any sound during turning slowly on a curve road, like the sound of a stones inside the can!! I reported this also to the dealer/workshop and came back to me that nothing was found. It iritates me me when I heard that clang sound.

Hello guy, If I'm not mistaken, I have the same problem as you do. I had posted this last 25 of Sept.2009, and got some advises from the experts. I send it to the work shop and made complaint. They said, need only to lubricate the catch/mechanism. After the service and up to now, never happen again. So, when you send it for service ask them to lubricate.

Recently I noticed my head lights still on even thought it's daylight (automatic mode position). I always keep my switch in an automatic mode. But, now I have to keep it off on daytime. Is there any effect of tapping or connecting LED in a parallel connection? Because, I connected a LED light and there was no problem earlier. Now, the headlights and LED are on during daytime, when it was on the automatic mode. I have to switch it to off position during daytime. Your comments are highly appreciated. Thanks,

Yes, my wheels are chrome clad, but what makes the sound by this tire rim(chrome clad rim). Do the dealer knows, that it is the rims which makes the sound? I can not reproduce that sound when it was in garage. Did they replace your tire rim with the same chrome clad? So, the sound was eliminated?On the forum of the same topics, there was TSB,etc... they mentioned. Anyway, thanks for the info. I will have it check again one of this days. Its annoying.....

I read a lot of comments regarding this clung noise during turning left at slow speed or when accelerating, but never find a concrete solution for this topic. I myself trying to figure out where it really coming from. I reported to the dealer during its maintenance check, nothing was there. They said everything okay. The noise comes from like a stone inside a milk can, when shake. That was the sound I got when turning slowly to the left on a car park

Good morning Lex, and thanks for your advise. Tomorrow my ford will be scheduled for the 15K maintenance check. I'll inform to them what had happened on my car. I did used my finger in pushing it back to unlock the catch and close the door. Also, this car have some unusual noise during slow turn on left like "clung". It doesn't happen on normal cruise speed. But, last night while on the forum, some owner experiencing the same sound/noise. They even mention about TSB 07-11-14, but I don't read the full context of the TSB. You about this TSB? Does anybody experience closing the driver door with the lock/catch mechanism is being in the locked position?It happened to me twice. The first instant was, after removing the key from the key hole and got out of the car, and close it as normal. But, was surprised with the big, unusual noise, door was not closed. Pull back the door again, close it but not closing,close it again with little force and there it goes, door was closed. It happened again on the second occasion, big noise or bang, this time, before I close it again, I examined the door lock mechanism and found the lock mechanism is in the locked position. I noticed it because I had checked the passenger door how it looks like when it is in the open position. So, I go back to the driver door and close it with little force to unlock/lock the catch mechanism and there is goes, door was closed. Anybody knows what exactly wrong with the door mechanism/system? On Saturday 26Sept.'09, my car will be due for 15,00Km maintenance check. And, I will report this matter to them, why the door lock/catch mechanism is kept lock when you open the door.

Thanks for the advise, now I came to know why they did't put that handle because of the safety measure.

Yes, the handle that attached on the pillar, back side there are grab handles but as I said driver and front passenger doesn't. It's convinient to have something to hold or grab while going out/in of the car. Is it possible to install without jeopardizing the operation of the side airbag? Or could it be possible on the forward sloping pillar?

Hello everybody, I got my ford edge 2008 limited last Feb.'09. It was great and superb in size and interior is very spacious. only one thing is, no hand rails. Did anybody tried to install hand rails on your fordy? I check with my dealer/workshop, and they don't have or don't install. Any info./help is appreciated. thanks, manny
