What does the vent look like and where it is? Any pictures of it?
If its one of the three seals, I have to take out the PTU and replace the seals?
Whats the part# for the seals? Can't find it on rockauto.com

Hi guys, I am from germany and drive an 2007 Edge AWD.
My PTU is also leaking, but my englisch is not as good as it should be, so maybe I didn't understood everything right.
Do just have to drill a drain plug into the PTU and change the oil frequently and it stops to leak?
Does it also work if my PTU is already leaking?

I think what you are looking for is part number 3 in the diagram. Here is a link to it. @WWWPerfA_ZN0W will probably have a better answer, just for a little for him and he will surely provide an answer.
Isn't IT Part Number 7 in the Diagram from your link?

Hi guys.... happy 2019 at first.
I have the known odor problem a long time.... now I found it by searching the forum and google, that a leaky PTU is the problem. I also have oil strains on my driveway.
Is it risky to drive a leaky PTU? I don't have the money for getting it replaced.
Do I have to look for enough fluid anywhere? Or what do I have to refill, if I dont want to repair it now?
I mean, the car is 11 years old and has about 120k miles on it. It runs smooth without problems.... the only thing is the smell/odor after comming from the autobahn.
Any suggestions?

I have had a similar problem as well. My bet it is the Tone Ring. I have had that on two (or three?) wheels on my Edge and the system acts a bit weird. I am dealing with it on my Daughter's 2008 Ford Escape. In researching it on the Escape I found this write-up and thought it is very applicable to the Edge as well. Nicely written with photos.
My mechanic and me checked all 4 tone rings. And they look fine. Anyway...why does the lights just go on in the morning tow and after a few driving meters they go off and stay off.

Lights came up again after starting the car in the morning fog. After a few meters the lights went off again.

Maybe because the wheel was shaking and that caused the abs sensor to make the lights came up?
Wheel isnt shaking any more. Braking is much smoother. Alignment is good.
Another leak my mechanic found is the steering gear is leaky.
The lights didnt came till now again.

Unfortunately, it is usually the sensor ring, a toothed ring attached to the halfshaft. Look for it behind the wheel and see if it is cracked, corroded, or damaged.
If you're lucky, it will be the sensor, which is fairly cheap and easy to replace.
Do you have a Diagram or picture of the sensor ring.
Also can you give me a link to the part on rockauto.com
BTW.... the error codes my buddy has found are:
C1140-20
B1320
B1485
B1696
C1125-20

You don't mean the TPMS Sensor?

Hi Guys,
I just came back from holidays with mit Edge, and on the Autobahn these two warning lights came up sporadically. Sometimes it came up on bumps, then it goes out on the next bump, then it came up when I went down the hill or when I accelerated.... really very.
Sometimes it was on for 10 minutes, then nothing was lighting up for 2 hours...
What could be the problem? Brake Fluid is full.
I have noticed one tire had less pressure, but nothing changed after I filled it up again.
-
And some afternarket sensors?
I need this as cheap as possible.
-
So I can't use the 2011 Sensor on my 2007 edge with 20" aluminum wheels?
-
I want to know if I can use TPMS Sensor of the 2011+ Models on my 2007 Ford Edge?
The Part number of the 2011 model is 9L3Z1A189A
And of the 2007-2010 Model is 7L1Z1A189A.
I am asking because I can get the TPMS Sensors of the 2011+ model much cheaper.

Ty . Couple things I would do differently next time but it is always good to learn.
Does it make the lights of the Cluster brighter?

Hi,
I am from Germany.
Is it possible to make the lights of the speedometer brighter than with the switch?
It is really hard for me to read the speedometer at daylight with lights turned on.
Any way to realize that?

Where is the Vent and how do I check it? Where is the Axle PTU?
I am not a mechanic but good in work, so just need a little bit help to
