  1. Well, I knew this happen. I got 3 more years (80k miles total on the odometer) out of the passenger side rear wheel bearing. Ordered another Timken hub (HA590183) from Amazon and the price actually went down! Time review the videos to remind me how to go about this.
  2. autom8r. Thanks for the diagram. I have a 2010 with dual climate control and was getting no ac on the passenger side. This actuator is very easy to get to and remove. Since it is Sunday, I just pulled the part out and ziptied the linkage until I get the part for winter. Total time, one hour 15 minutes. I looked up the part #19E616 and there seems to be meny versions of this part, so additional research will be require to narrow down which one I need. Chris
  3. Seems like this bearings just stink. Ford did the front passenger wheel bearing at 25k miles. I just did this in my garage. Basically the same process as Vickie1985 describes. I did remove the lower shock bolt for extra room. http://www.fme-cat.com/HubWheelTorqueTableWindow.aspx?a=3640&q=AWD.....this is a great place to verify the torque settings. http://brianearly.blogspot.com/2012/11/jackass-award-ford-edgelincoln-mkx-rear.html.......and this will show what a non-user friendly this project is. http://www.harborfreight.com/8-pc-12-in-drive-impact-star-bit-socket-set-67896.html........this is the Torx set I bought and I grinded the T60 as Vicki1985 described. This is an absolute necessity. Used the Timken hub off of Amazon for $97.00. FYI - I have 50k miles on the vehicle and the Ford dealer could not hear the noise. Tired of begging for service, I just did this myself.
  4. I have the same issue with my 2010 with the same miles. You should maintain the same ratios of water and coolant. On another thread I am looking into the possibility of the water pump starting to go and the coolant is leaving the system via weep hole on the water pump.

    Bad water pump

bapierce and daveknapp2000. I would have sent you both notes directly, but I do not have enough posts on the forum. I have the smell of the impending coolant leak from my water pump. The coolant level is dropping in the reservoir but I have nothing on the floor, yet. The replacement part is not expensive, but it does look like a time consuming project. You both did this DIY. How did it go, got any pointers ? Where can I find a good schematic of the front of the engine so I can identify what I am taking off to get at the water pump ? Sorta bummed that this happened after 47k miles. They have already replaced the battery (2 weeks old), PTO seal and front wheel bearing under warranty. 2010 SEL AWD. I love the vehicle, just allot to go bad on a $37k car with under 50k miles on it. You can reach me at lacrosse2008 at comcast.net. Thanks in advance Chris
  6. Sorry to jumo in here. I have a 2010, does that mean I need a phone with 3.0 Buletooth in order for me to use this option?
  7. Hey guys. Just wanted to let anyone that may be interested know that the 13060 Curt Hitch does fit on the 2010 model Edge. I took my sweet time and it took me two hours. It is no biggie at all. Tomorrow or maybe later will be the lighting harness. If anyone at Curt moniters the forum, nice product. Chris 11/11/09 Update installed the Draw-Tite lights that I got from Realtruck. It took two hours at a leisurly pace. The one thing that I know saved me a bunch of time was that I did not go to the battery for a source of power. I know this has been discussed on the forum, but I only use this thing a few times a year and figured the worst thing I could do was blow some fuses, so I tapped into the cigarette lighter in the back. I have done two 50 trips and have had no issues. Probably the hardest thing to do is build up the nerve to just yank the panels off of the side of the cargo area (I only have 2,000 miles on it), but that is the only way and they snap back into place with no rattles. Speaking of putting things back together, to get the back panels off you need to unscrew a cargo hook at the top of the panel. I found it much easier to take that screw out entirely to ease putting the panel back into place. PS - watch the video that is mentioned in another post.
