  1. I received my kit from Retro-Solutions. It's a 55w, 8000K, H11 for my wife's 2009 Edge Limited. The kit came with the relay harness, which I am going to install. Here are a few pics of the kit/harness and an explanation of where they connect. The installation manual was not clear about the capacitor connections. I e-mailed Todd Strong, he got back to me in a couple of minutes and verified that I had everything correct. Great customer service.
  2. So what steps do you all take to protect your family and your property. Recently in my city, while cars are parked at the owners place of business, crooks have been breaking into cars and grabbing the garage door openers and the vehicle registration. They then have the owners address and know they are not home, and a way into the garage and the house if attached. The people get home and discover that their car was not the only thing that was broken into. Hide your garage door opener and your paperwork. How many people just clip the opener to the visor, in plain view. A small step to protect you and yours.
  3. Have a Python 991 alarm/remote start and all LED interior lights. No issues with the lights or the remote start. The front map LEDS are from Putco, the rear dome and cargo LEDS are from superbrightleds.com.
  4. Just put some rain-x de-icer/cleaner fluid in your washer fluid tank. Takes care of ice and frost as long as you don't let it build up too bad.
  5. Did the puddle lamps today with red LEDS. Took them apart with an exacto knife, just cut the glue line and they pulled apart with no damage. The LEDS I received from superbright were the same size (length) as the stock bulbs so they just snapped in. No bending the reflector. I checked to be sure everything was working by using a 9volt battery prior to sealing the units back together with a small amount of epoxy. Will snap them back into the mirrors when the wife gets home from work. Total time, 10 minutes, not counting the set time for the epoxy. Now all interior lamps and the puddles will be red LEDS. Should go nicely with the vehicle color.
  6. Received my package from superbright. Replaced all interior lights with red LEDS. Looks cool. The car is a 2009 Limited with the Redfire Clearcoat Metallic paint and black leather. Also replaced the license plate bulbs with white LEDS. I have the LEDS to do the puddle lamps, just have to make sure my wife is busy so she doesn't see me tearing apart the pods. Also did the HID conversion on the low beams. Not sure if I'm gonna do the highs. The HID lows are plenty bright.
  7. The rear wiper blade is a PITA to get off. Once it is off you will be able to see why. The blade is held by a pin that snaps into the wiper arm. You can't see any of this with the stock blade on due to the cover on the blade. You have to push the wiper blade at a precise angle for the pin to pop out of the clamp mechanism on the arm. Once off you can use any blade you want. No adapters required. I just replaced ours with an Anco Winter Blade, 13". In fact I pushed off the plastic adapter that came on the blade and usually slides into the arms with the curved end. The remaining steel pin snapped onto the wiper arm and it's done.
  8. Got a great deal. Seems like a very capable vehicle. My wife likes it very much. Plenty of power, nice ride and low road noise. Quite an upgrade from her 2003 Ford Escape Limited. Her only complaint so far is the A-Pillar/ Dash junction. It is large and seems to be a blind spot for her. She is small in stature (5 ft. tall) and has the seat all the way up to remedy this. She is very particular. She test drove vehicles from the Lexus RX330 to the Nissan Murano before choosing the Edge. Just put on Bosch Icon wipers and red led interior lamps to coordinate the colors for her.
  9. Just bought a new 2009 Edge Limited, AWD, for my wife. Wanted to say "Hello" to everyone. Were in Colorado. Can't wait for the snow to "Test" her vehicle.
