  1. I used the Kicker ZX700 5.5 amp. It has high pass inputs you run the stock speaker wires from the radio into and also has a bass knob. The base knob is pretty cool because the stock radio only gives you so much control. I bought all the gear online and saved alot of money off of retail and I found a mobile installer on Craigs list to help me decide wich gear to get and he also installed eveything. The system sounds realy good. Very clear, has a lot of volume now and the bass incredible!! It is clear and plays all types of music very well. I used the Pioneer TS SW2541D 4 the sub. It is a shallow mount 10" that only requires about .5 cubic feet so the box is nice and small. http://www.rivermacomber.com/ Here is the link to the installers web site. Look for the link to the 2007 Edge and he has a few more pictures there as well.
  2. The Kapa's fit the front and rear perfectly. The holes in them line up with the holes in the door from the factory speakers and there is just enough room by the window motor to mount the cross over. I don't have any dimensions for the sub box....I had a professioal mobile install guy come to my house and build/install the box, sub and amp. He used the extra wood panel on mine to get the box bolted nice and tight to the plastic panel so there is no rattles....I'm sure there are several ways to mount it though.
  3. I have Infinity Kapa's front and rear...with a 10" Pioneer shallow mount sub in a custom box and a Kicker 5 chanl. amp driving the whole system with the stock deck....it ROCKS!!!
  4. I added a Pioneer TS-SW2341D 10" shallow sub in a custom box, 4 Infifnity Kapa 2 way speakers and a Kicker 5 chanel amp. I kept the stock head unit but had all 4 door speakers run throught the amp. It is loud, clear and thumps pretty hard. The speaker is only thing you can see in the cargo area....the box is behind the panel where the factory sub would have been. I took the picture with my cell phone...it looks much better in person.
  5. Geat pictures and ideas. I found a guy on Craig's list in my area to do a similar set up. He is installing a 5 channel amp, 10" sub and 4 new speakers. I am keeping the stock head unit though but all the speakers will be amplified. I will take pictures as he builds the box an does the install next week.
  6. I went to Pep Boys and bought two nice chrome oval tips....cut the stock ones off with a angle grinder and a fiber cut off wheel and installed the new ones. Took about 30 minutes and cost $24.00 and looks great. Super easy!!!
  7. I to was a little worried about buying a first year vehical. But my shop sponsors the local Ford dealer bicylce racing team so I am friends with many of the service guys and they all told me they have seen almost no issues with the Edge. And the issues they have seen have been common issues any new car could have. Trim piece loose, blinker not blinking, fault sensor etc. So I purchased the base model last month and couldn't be happier......and the mph is great even with my heavy foot.
  8. Mine did the same thing for a bout a week. I was going to take it in but it went away and has been fine since. I did re-torque the lug nuts though and check the air pressure as well.....both were off straight from the dealer.
