  1. I looked at a new 42k Edge Sport the other day. It seems sportier with the new plastic and nice chrome exhaust tips. Ambient lighting is cool and the dual colored seats are ok too. What i really liked were the 22" chrome wheels that were real all metal wheels. Thats about it. And it smells good.
  2. I went to the dealership thinking my PTU is leaking again. They said it wasnt since I got a revised PTU??? They said that there is a TSB for the tranny leaking on some deflector plate. Anybody heard of this before?
  3. I got an amsoil nano air filter. Its supposed to have a higher flow that stock and capture particles that K&N doesnt. Ive always used K&N filters with no problems but I usually get rid of my vehicle in a couple years.
  4. I am selling a Pioneer Avic D3 Nav System with Sirus radio (less the antenna - never got it back). I had it in my old Edge for 7 months but it wasnt used for 2 months while sitting in the dealership. Stereo is located in the Midwest. The receiver has all the cabling and books. There is 1 1/2 year warrant left at Nebraska Furniture Mart so I would prefer to sell it in the Midwest. Asking price is $500. Also available Brand new Pioneer GMH-6300 4x50 AMP $100 Bazooka Tube 8" 100W $150 I will include power wire and distru blocks for free brand new. 16 4ga red 5 4ga black fused + block black distro Please PM me if intrested.
  5. I dont like how the stock sub bottoms out sometimes. Does anybody thing its possible to install an 8" sub, 4OHM with requirements for .3 cuft? I dont want to replace amps and all that stuff. Is the stock amp input pretty much like a high level input? And, is the amp for all the speakers or seperate. I dont want to tear it apart.
  6. Heres what i found: As most of you know by now, Ford has an ambient lighting option on most of the new 2008 models, including Mustang, F150, Focus, and Fusion. This kit will fit ANY vehicle, not just a Ford. Well I wanted to let everyone know that it comes as a kit that can be installed on any vehicle. It looks like it would come with a couple of LED bars, module, wiring, and all switches needed. 8S4Z-13E700-AA List $270.00 Special $225.00 Just google the part number and it should work. I think the website was total ford parts or something like that.
  7. Just got my 08 passenger seal replaced. lets see how long it goes before leaking again. My 07 had a different leak on the main shaft and I guess thats almost impossible to replace from what my ford technician says. Cross my fingers. Who makes the PTU anyways. It is Ford or 3rd party ( outsource ). I want to have a chat with the guy who installs the seals.
  8. The show was a Ford Commercial while it was going on and the regular commercials. First car chase was Mustang, Edge, Focus, Fusion, I think was a huge ford truck, a 150 afterwards and there was also a Volvo S40/S60 there. WOW.

    ACC baby!

Well, #2 KU lost to my #1 team Kansas State today. Bring Roy Williams back to KU for a second shot.
  10. I had a wire spliced to the factory sirius radio antenna for my AVIC D3 and sat receiver. The stock sirius receiver is in the back of the vehicle on the far back of the spare tire. It worked great. The nav gps antenna was put under the dash. Plastic/wood wont stop a gps signal and it worked great also. I had my ipod adapter in my glove comparment also. I guess u can drill a hole where the stock usb would be and put in the round connector first and fish it out. Good luck with microphone. My PESWIPS wheel controller woulnt work all the time for the vol up. Dont konw if it was a bad adapter but it would work only sometimes.
  11. Talkin about bad luck. I replaced my 1st EDGE due to problems with the leaking oil thing. Went from an 07 to an 08. I thought the problem was fixed. On my original car, there was a unfixable leak on the PTU and it had to be replaced. I got a new car before I could tell if it was fixed. On my new car with 500 miles on it, they told me that the leak is in the same area but it can be serviced. The new leak is an axle leak where the other was some sorta seal that coulnt be replaced. What in the world are wrong with these PTUS and are they leaking due to people problems or design problems. I hope it gets fixed this time. How many leaks can this thing delop? 3 one drive shaft and 2 axles?
  12. The forgot the key code card in my manual on my first EDGE. The dealer agreed to hook it up to the computer and retrieved it for free. It was a fun hour at the dealership.

  15. It was a pretty easy install. First, remove the stock bulb connectors and put the new bulbs in. You will connect the new bulbs to the ballasts and the stock connectors will just dangle. With a relay kit from EBAY or wherever, you hook up the red ring wire to the battery. I used the extra post on the side of the + battery terminal with the wire that went to the power box. I then used the ground on the chassis that my battery went to. It worked out great and its kinda out the way. I put the ballasts on the side of my headlight housing ( need to find some better adhesive since the 3M stuff didnt work too well ) but when they stoped adhering, they stayed in the headlight housing pocket and wouldnt budge. With the relay kit wires run, one lone cable w/ connector will go to the right and one short one to the left. You hook those connections up to the ballasts. With the relay kit there is another short wire that has little terminal connectors. Remember the dangling original light bulb connectors. You insert them into the original female plug of the stock light bulb of the left (drivers) side connector. Remember to check the polarity before connecting them. I put a plastic clear bag on the right side bulb connector with electrical tape so a short wouldnt occur. Put the fuse in the relay kit and your ready to go. Turn on and the buzz happends with pretty light. Then purty up the engine bay with tie wraps and ur good to go. If you want to really weatherprotect your relay kit since its not waterproof, you can put plastic bags over your fuse ( the relay kits seem to have it exposed ) and the actuall relay ( the box with 4 pins). Thats about it. Other than making things look pretty, only takes maybee 30 min if you have the right tools. Good times.
