  1. I think I'm going to be in the same boat, so I'd like to know this as well. But to be honest I havent even looked at it.
  2. Sorry for the delay, for some reason I'm not getting emails on this post. Yeah thats a bummer on the different cans, who would have thought?
  3. I'd tow it and not think twice, just be smart about it. Trailer brakes would be a big plus. I'd probly turn off the OD if it keeps hunting for gears. I still wouldnt change my motor oil under 5k miles, tranny id do between 25k and 30k. Have a good trip!!
  4. Have you got this done? How did it turn out?
  5. LOL, We got rid of our VW for the Edge. And wouldn't go back for anything. If you do a search on VW problems it will make you sick on everything that comes up. I tell me wife every car has problems, but its the problems that leave you on the side of the car that aren't going to fly. As long as it gets you home is what matters.
  6. ps, that bolt you see below the ball hitch is for a flag mount. When we drive on the sand, we have to have a flag.
  7. When I first was going to do it I wasn't going at add the anti rattle clamp. But I'm %100 glad I did. You'll be amazed at how much noise travels threw the car with it rattling around. If you did anything different then the way I did I'd sure like to see some pics. Also I did find the pics I was looking for.
  8. You know I do have some more pics but cant find them. I sent them to a member on here jimmij maybe if he still has them he can post them?
  9. It's been a wile. But one of the time when I was test fitting I just pushed the strap up and marked a new hole. I just used a self taping screw. Most aftermarket hitchs just say to ignore the strap" just tuck it up" but if you do that that bumper flaps in the wind. So I just tucked it up but mounted also.
  10. The ride quality wasn't as nice as I was hoping for, I really like the stock ride quality. Tho the H&R's didn't ride bad at all, in fact it was only on the larger bumps that I really notice anything. I'm just a snob when it come to ride quality is all and getting old. If we didn't have a new baby I probably would have just left them. I will say tho I thought the stance was perfect, I don't like them to low. The fender to tires clearance was perfect I thought, nice and even.
  11. I wanted to give this a bump. I'm open to offers.
  12. I have a set of H&R springs that have only about 1,000 miles on them. They did lower the Edge exactly 1.5" in front and 1.5" in the rear, gave it a really nice stance. Theses where on our 09 AWD,so they fit the Fwd also. I'd like 200 shipped. There as close to new as you can get. Thanks
  13. If a flush kills your tranny it was already on its way out. The reason is tranny fluid is a detergent,it cleans and lubes. The detergent breaks down and stops cleaning, when you flush and add new fluid it starts cleaning again, breaking free junk wiping out your tranny. But kinda sorta if you have a trillion miles and have never changed the oil I'd keep running it.
  14. The shorter life of the turbo'd 4 isn't correct IMO. I have a 95 Dodge Cummins turbo with 300K miles with still plenty of life in it. When things are designed with a turbo or SC they can live a very long life its when you do things they weren't designed for is when you run to trouble. Also when was the last time you heard about a car/truck with a wore out motor? Most times its the tyranny or just the car is flat out wore out, not to often is it the motor. I'd bet a lot of newer cars can get 200k out of the motor np. I also have a 2000 f150 with 160k and the motor is the last things I'm worried about.
  15. Just some FYI, that I know of there are 2 different leaks to look for. Brown/Black fluid is a PTU seal leak, Red fluid is a ATF leak
  16. look for tsb 08-12-3. thats the number i have, it should turn up what your looking for.
  17. Whats the deferents between driving for 3.5 hours and idling for 2 hours? There isn't any. The only reason I bring up the AC is because the condenser needs air to keep it cool, but all new cars have electric fans. And most cars don't even need fans under 35mph. Those electric fans do a good job when stoped or moving slow. After that long I would put the tranny in neutral, because id be tired of holding onto the brake. There use to be a video floating around of Ford testing ground and they did a thing call Hot Box or something like that, anyways they park the car in like a large dumpster in the dead of summer and it get like 130 in there, they sit in there for a very long time with the AC maxed out. Everything gets tested and I dought we could do stuff they haven't done it to.
  18. Letting the car idle for 2 hours should do no harm, it is kinda hard on the AC but I wouldn't be surprised if even that wasn't affected. If everything went back to factory settings then the car lost batt power, I think there is a tsb for a lose batt cable/wire?

  20. I've noticed our EDGE is weak in the sand. I've had the thing pined but the T-C is cutting back the motor,on or off same thing. I'd think with the T-C off it'd spin the tires easyly but it dosent. I think even witht he T-C off its still doing something.
  21. Odds are its one of two things, and bad Battery or theres a relay sticking so something like the fuel pump may still be running wile the car is off. I'm betting on the battery tho.
  22. The wheel and tire thing is a joke. If you get a flat or damage a rim it is because you hit something, they wont cover that. Its like putting a dent on your car then asking warranty to cover it. This is the way I understand it.
