  1. Just got my new C5 Y2K Deep Dish Rims for my baby, 2002 WS6 Trans Am.
  2. You may have gotten one of the Edges that rolled off the assembly line in Columbia. Definitely a dealer issue, it's usually a bad idea to attempt any sort of self service on the AC.
  3. Everyone has a right to their own opinion. It's respecting the opinions of others that sets us apart.
  4. Hard to believe it, but I actually agree with MOFSTEEL on this one, no comparing an Audi to ANY Ford or Lincoln. However, there's no doubt that the quality gap has narrowed substantially over the last few years and I belive that the fit and finish of the 2011 Edge will be pretty damn good. Not to mention the purchase and maintenance costs will be much lower than an Audi. My Uncle always jokes about the $1000 tune up he seems to always pay for when he brings his in for service! If money were no object, I'd be springing for the Audi or better. But face it, if money were no object, none of us would be discussing Ford to begin with.
  5. Felt the same way a year ago. I swore I'd never drive a Ford, EVER, and was on my way out to purchase a Toyota Sienna with my wife. After a test drive, we saw the new Flex's at the Ford dealer across the street and went over to take a look. A few weeks later we put the order in and have been loving it ever since. One of the best vehicles I've ever owned hands down. Hoping you're experience is much the same. Good Luck and keep us posted as to when it comes in.
  6. Yup, rebates are gone, but for me this is much better since I'm paying cash and will not be financing or leasing. The %0 finance/lease rates are gone.
  7. I haven't seen any claims of +40 mpg, that would be simply amazing. Most reviewers are pegging the mileage in the low 30's, which is still phenomenal for a 300+ HP motor. Can you imagine our Dad's big block V8's pulling that off! Here's a link I found, http://green.autoblog.com/2010/03/04/2011-ford-mustang-v6-gets-31-mpg-highway-first-ever-for-300-hp/
  8. The new round of incentives were released today and it looks like Ford is offering, in Canada at any rate, Employee pricing on most 2011 models. Looks like the Edge is included in this, as the only exclusions in the fine print are the 2011 Shelby GT, F-150 Raptor and a few of the big trucks. This is just what I was waiting for and correct me if I'm wrong, but Employee A-Plan pricing should be even better than X-Plan? Happy Canada Day indeed! Time to place my order. ∞ Ford Employee Pricing ("Employee Pricing") is only in effect from July 1, 2010 to August 31, 2010 (the "Program Period") and refers to A-Plan pricing ordinarily available to Ford employees and excludes any CAW negotiated bonuses or other special incentives that employees may receive from time to time. Employee Pricing is available on the purchase or lease of most new 2010 and 2011 Ford vehicles [excluding 2010 F-150 Raptor, F-Series Chassis Cabs, E-Series Cutaways and Stripped Chassis, F-650/F-750] / [2011 Mustang Shelby GT 500, F-150 Raptor, F-Series Chassis Cabs, E-Series Cutaways and Stripped Chassis, F-650/F-750]. The new vehicle must be delivered or factory ordered from your participating Ford Dealer during the Program Period. This offer can be used in conjunction with most retail consumer offers made available by Ford of Canada at the time of either factory order or delivery, but not both. Employee Pricing is raincheckable. Employee Pricing is combinable with the Commercial Connection Program but not combinable with CPA, GPC, CFIP, Daily Rental Allowance, A/X/Z/D/F-Plan and A/Z-Plan Loyalty program incentives.
  9. Nice. First time I've seen that MyFordTouch PDF booklet, lot of good details there.
  10. You're probably looking at mid to low 6 second 0-60 times with the new sport stock. The sport model also has the taller gear ratio, which should provide for a faster sprint compared to the other models or previous Edge's. Keep in mind that this is just the tip of the iceberg, the Ecoboost engine has proven itself to be an incredible motor for mods. Some of the Taurus SHO guys are squeezing out massive HP increases with just programming alone. You do however risk your warranty if you go that route, but don't be surprised to see some very fast Edge's over the next few months as the 2011 sports become available. I was able to track my Flex when I ordered it last year. My dealer provided me with a VIN and I was able to track it's progress, you should be able to get that from your dealer as well.
  11. Wow, doesn't get more informed than having someone walk up and down the assembly line! Thanks for the update.
  12. Let's give MyTouch some credit. More like installing Windows 7 on a Commodore 64.
  13. The stock 18" rim width for a 2007 Edge is 7.5". This means that you have a recommended 8.83" of actual tire width to play with. This can vary between manufacturers, but in most cases the widest safely you could go on a stock rim is 255. If you can find a shop willing to do it, you could conceivably go wider, but you'd be putting your safety at risk and most likey end up comprising the ride and handling.
  14. Thanks for tracking that down. If true, not the greatest of incentives, but hey, $750 is $750. It'll pay for BLIS or maybe even the Driver Entry Package.
  15. Decision was made when I saw the 2011 Sport at the auto show! 305HP EcoBoost, paddle shifters, gorgeous 22" rims, MyTouch, I'm sold! I'm ready to pull the trigger on the order, just waiting to see what the next round of incentives will be July 1st and whether they'll apply. In Canada at least, the %0 current financing is NOT applicable to the 2011 Edge. The Bullitt Mustangs are awesome, take care of that beast. My pride and joy is an '02 Trams Am WS6 that I purchased when I found out it would be the last model year. It was a daily driver for 5 years so it currently has 90K on it. But I've babyed it since new and same as yours, it lives in the garage and only comes out to play on nice days. If it were up to me, I'd forget about the Edge and buy a brand new 2011 5L Mustang, unfortunately two small kids rules that out as a daily driver, so the Edge it is! Hard to believe that even the V6 Mustangs have almost as much power now as my '02 Trans Am did, and that was considered massive for the day. Take care and keep us posted on the order.
  16. Very nice. If you don't know about it already, get yourself an XPLAN pin and you should hit close to that invoice price. I'm looking at a 2011 Sport myself, fully loaded, Red Candy Metallic paint. Should be a huge step up from the RAV. You own a Bullitt Stang by any chance?
  17. Good luck to ya, let us know how it goes. What model/options you got your sights on?
  18. It's one thing for me to bring up my wife jokingly, with a smily face, and a 'no offense' clause, in a conversation. It's another thing for someone else to use my family as an obvious insult against me. That shows a complete lack of class and in my view, you crossed a line.
  19. Here in the Great White North, I used a site called carcostcanada.com to get detailed pricing on both the 2010 and 2011 models and do a direct compare. They are very close in price and you're totally correct, holding out gets you a the next 'Bond' car for almost the same $$$. PIN me if you want a breakdown, I'd be glad to fire it over to you. Although if you're in the US not sure how helpful that'd be.
  20. In Canada, full price details are available at most dealers. They even have an interesting 'Touring Option' that bundles both the Vista Roof and NAV system together and gives you a $700 savings. Not sure why we have all these details yet, perhaps because they're built in Oakville?
  21. Now who's getting personal?
  22. Having an opinion and disagreeing with you means I have personal issues? Not sure who this second person is, but I guess I must have disagreed with something else someone said. How about we lose the Ego and get back to the purpose of this forum?
  23. I'm surprised to hear that. I've been the proud owner of a first year model Flex and have never had a single issue with it. And no, I'm not pulling a Sgt Schultz when I drive around town and there's a loud clunk coming from the rear end, "I hear NUT-TING!" It's without a doubt the most solid car I've ever owned and the primary reason why I'm looking to purchase my second Ford.
  24. 'You're taking everything that I say as a personal insult.' LOL, I had a good laugh reading that, you sounded just like my wife there for a second, no offense. Seriously, you do bring up some valid points. However one thing you obviously missed, and maybe it's just the optimist in me, but isn't it quite possible that as part of the 'refresh' Ford may have ironed out and addressed the bugs that a very small minority of owners like yourself have experienced? Ford has stated quite clearly that most of the changes in the 2011's were brought about after listening to what existing Ford Edge owners would like to see improved upon, the bland interior, increased power, more technology, etc. Logically, wouldn't they have also taken corrective action to fix any minor existing issues that owners have identified? I guess the new features could certainly introduce new bugs. But it's also quite possible using my point above that the 2011's may be even more sound than the previous models.
