  1. MOFSTEEL, are you suggesting NONE of us buy a 2011 Edge ? If you can name 15 first year model cars that were an owners nightmare, I can probably name 15 that were an owners delight. I can also probably find a group of owners for every year of every vehicle ever built that had issues. Case in point as I mentioned somewhere previously, I purchased a Toyota RAV4 because it was a consumers reports 'best buy' and I believed in the myth that everything Toyota makes is pure Gold quality. Well I discovered very quickly that my car was a lemon and have now gladly gotten rid of it. Basing your facts on complaints you see on this board or others is pointless. For every visible 'problem' post you see, there are probably 10 invisible 'happy' owners with no complaints. As long as vehicles are designed by man and built by man there will always be flaws and imperfections. You take a gamble with any car you buy regardless of make, model or year. BTW, the 2011 is NOT a new model, but a refresh. Sorry, to hear you are having issues with your Edge, is it a first year model? Obviously it's put a bit of a sour taste in your mouth.
  2. Thanks that's very helpful. I know when I bought my Flex a year and a half ago it was a new model and they did offer me the 'family pricing' incentive that was available at the time. I can only imagine how much a person with an XPLAN PIN could have saved themselves if they could have bundled both. Here's hoping July 1st offers some incentive break on the 2011 Edge.
  3. I'm pretty close to pulling the trigger on a 2011 Edge Sport. I'm qualified for X-Plan pricing but was wondering if the X-Plan price can be bundled with any other incentives that Ford offers at time of purchase? The current %0 financing that Ford Canada is currently offering doesn't apply to 2011 models, so I'm waiting to see what the next round of incentives will bring before signing. Does anyone have an answer to this?
  4. Look forward to seeing your ride! Post pics for us all when done.
  5. Filtercharged07. my final word on this topic is NOT to take my word, or anyone else's for that matter, but be your own judge. Try a range of products, including Zaino and Meguires, and see what works best for you. I too have been detailing cars for over 20+ years and have tried countless products. My choice came down to what I believed worked best for me. Good luck, and if you do go the Zaino route and have questions about how to apply the stuff, drop me a line, I'd be glad to lend a hand.
  6. LOL, is that what you've read or have you tried both? I've used Meguires NXT 2 and it is a great product that is super easy to apply. However, it doesn't have anywhere near the longevity or pop that a properly applied setup of Zaino will give you. The bottom line is, if you want a product that is quick and easy and will give your vehicle a great shine, go with Meguires. If you want the ultimate long lasting shine and are willing to put in the time and learn the proper staged application techniques, give Zaino a try. It all comes down to how anal you are about your car's finish. My Trans Am is not a daily driver, but is a weekend cruiser that I take to shows, so for me it has to be perfect. I've added a few more pictures and angles to show how good Zaino really is.
  7. Zaino. It's the best polish on the market hands down. You won't find it at your local Walmart and it's a little pricey, but take a look at the pic of my Trans Am to see how it makes the paint pop. Keep mind that this car is a 2002, so that paint job is almost 10 years old!
  8. Amusing to see that I'm not the only one who was not satisfied with my Toyota. In the first year my RAV4 had major strut issues, among other things, that made the car feel like you were riding in a Sherman tank after every bump and jar in the road. When my lease ended and I returned the vehicle last month, fully planning on moving up to a Highlander, I complained about the issues I had to my sales associate. She promptly told me that if I didn't buy one of their vehicles somebody else would. At which point I walked out and did the search that led me to the 2011 Edge Sport, which I'm now ready to purchase. The new Edge is the ultimate gadget, and having WIFI access with the new MyTouch is about as cool as it gets! I believe you can also connect your 3G or 4G enabled IPHONE or other devices into the USB port, and then use it 'tethered' to surf the internet on the car's touchscreen.
  9. I bought one of the first Ford Flex's as they became available and have been driving it non stop and loving it for over a year and a half without a single issue. It's by far the most solid vehicle I've ever owned, and that includes a few Toyota's over the years. Keep in mind that this is not a 'new' model but a refresh. The foundation and core components are basically unchanged, and what is changing are refinements, interior trim and electronics. If this were a mid 70's British Leyland vehicle, I'd be concerned about the electrical, but I have more faith in current Ford design and testing.
  10. Akirby, you are correct, if I place an order today, I can get whatever incentive is available when I take delivery. However, not knowing in advance what that incentive will be makes this a crapshoot. Seems that Ford keeps their cards close when it comes to details of the next round of incentives, so the safe bet for me is to wait till end of June. Unless anyone out there is aware of any incentive patterns that occur with some form of regularity througout the year for Canada? I know when I bought my Flex a year and a half ago they were offering 'Family Pricing' and I got a huge discount over MSRP, that was in November I believe.
  11. Sorry guys, looks like I fat fingered the link by adding a period at the end. Here's the working link, http://www.crowfootford.com/cochrane-ford.php
  12. Called my local dealership and they said the order bank for the 2011 Edge is open. Another dealer near me has a full 'build it price it' link on their main page; http://www.crowfootford.com/cochrane-ford.php. Just select a 2011 Edge and you can see the MSRP for all available models and the price breakdown for all options, (Canadian). I was surprised when my dealer advised me to wait until the current round of Ford incentives ends June 30 before placing my order. Apparently the %0 financing is not available on the 2011 Edge with the current promotion, (Canada). He said he could certainly put the order in, and I'd be one of the first in town to get one, (want a 2011 Edge Sport), but waiting for the next round of incentives which would most likely apply to the new Edge would likely save me some $$ in the long run. They're also not as flexible to negotiate at this point on the 2011's as they will be a few months from now. I'm impressed with that level of honesty. These guys have my business for sure.
