  1. Hi rips241. Welcome! I couldn't agree more. Your experience with your Edge is the same as mine. We have a 2008 Edge that was bought new in December 2007 that has been driven over 55,000 miles... We drove it from Texas to California and back last summer - 4,500 miles. This summer we drove it from Texas to Washington D.C. and back - 3,500 miles. The Edge has been great on the road.
  2. In December of 2008, I was looking for a vehicle to replace my 1998 Ford Ranger Super Cab (manual trans - 4 cyl) with over 100,000 miles that I had bought new. I loved the Ranger - it was very reliable. I had no problems with it. A great truck! 1. Looked for another Ranger, but the selection was poor at dealerships in my area. 2. Looked at the F-150, and liked the 4 door model. 3. Salesperson showed me the Edge, and I really liked it. Took it for a test drive, and was very happy with it. 4. Choose the Edge over the F-150 (same price basically) because the storage in the Edge was inside whereas storage in the F-150 was not. Since December 2008, I've put over 55,000 miles on my Edge. At the beginning of July 2010, I replaced the original tires with the same - Hankook DynaPro. I got 51, 000 out of the first set. I expect the same from this second set. I think they ride great. In July 2009, we drove 4,500 miles from Texas to California and back. In July 2010, we drive 3,500 miles from Texas to Washington DC and back. This vehicle is very comfortable on the road! A very happy Edge owner in Texas.
  3. My 2008 Edge has just over 51,000 miles. One defect with rear bearing at 17,000 miles that was fixed under warranty. I just bought new Hankook tires (same exact tires as the originals) to replace the original tires. We drove from Texas to California and back (4,200 miles) on summer vacation in 2009, and it was very comfortable for two adults and one teenager. I am very happy with my Edge. Sorry to hear others are having so many problems.
  4. 51,275 miles on my 2008 Edge that I bought new in December 2007. This car has been great! The only problem that I've had with it was a rear wheel hub bearing that was replaced under warranty. I replaced the original Hankook tires this past Saturday, with the same Hankook tires - DynaPro AS P235/65R17. We drove it on vacation last summer, and put 4,200 miles on it - Texas to California, and back. It was very comfortable for 2 adults and a teenager on the drive. Good luck with your decision.
