MTSMAN
New owner of 2016 Sport. Traded in the 2013 Flex Ecoboost Limited. It was difficult because the Flex had CRAZY torque and was great for long trips. But we needed something that returned better than 21-22 hwy mpg on 89 octane and no longer needed the 3 rows of the Flex. First 200 highway miles showed 30.1 on display. The next morning we moved our son into college, drove around Philly a bit then returned home. When I stopped to refill the display showed 27.5 mpg. Upon a full refill of the tank I performed actual calculations at this time and it was 26.3 for our first 309 mile trip of 90% hwy and 10% city red light to red light. This was using plain old 87 octane, A/C blasting and Mrs. Leadfoot driving ?. I am extremely satisfied with the highway MPG. I suspect I could squeeze 29mpg out of it for all highway. Perception of slightly less torque than EB Flex but has a different kind of power...more of mid range than crazy low end toque of EB Flex. We specifically looked for/purchased it with the smaller 20" wheels for a couple reasons and I believe they helped our MPG. Others having similar experiences or did I just get a factory freak? Nolan
I think you got a factory freak. We are now getting 30.1 mpg after 4,000 miles highway and city on our 2019 Edge SEL. My wife drives 95% of the time and she has, the need. For speed. We also just run 87 octane.
