Cold Weather

I'm moving to Dover, Maine for 3 months begining Jan. 12. I've lived in Fla. all my life and have never operated a car in cold weather. I have a 2008 Edge. I would appreciate any advice re. preparation of my Edge for the weather and care while I am there.

I'm not sure about your Edge, there are 110V block heaters that are easy to use.

Snow tires??

But my neighbors daughter is going to school in Chicago and they told her to not even bother bringing her coat from TX, it wouldn't be enough.

Get a good quality windsheild wiper fluid, the deicer kind, keep the tank full.

If you have AWD, you shoud be OK. Mine works great on snow w/ the stock 18"tires.

Keep a good snow brush and gloves in the car.

Raise the wiper blades off the windsheild when parked before it snows, its will extened the life of the blades and prevent them from sticking....
