m4rioo
Hi. My wife was driving today and suddenly someone in front of her braked hard, the Collision Warning System activated, but after a while of driving, the message "Collision Warning System Malfunction (or something like that)" appeared on the dash. My wife turned the car off and on again, and the error didn't return. What could this mean?
Wubster100
PRE-COLLISION ASSIST – INFORMATION MESSAGES Message: Pre-Collision Assist Not Available Sensor Blocked. Action: You have a blocked sensor due to bad weather, ice, mud or water in front of the radar sensor. You can typically clean the sensor to resolve. Message: Pre-Collision Assist Not Available. Action: A fault with the system has occurred. Have your vehicle checked as soon as possible. Your error message was most likely due to a blocked sensor in front of the camera by the windshield, or radar by the bumper. The blocked sensor error will automatically reset after a key cycle. garycrist
Or, a stupid glitch...Just like computers but, these new cars have bunches! (remember windows and the Blue Screen of Death?) It could have been a Trucker with a high powered amplifier on 11 Meters with a signal as broad as a barndoor "tickled" the input of one of those computers.
