Tucson Bob Posted 16 hours ago Report Share Posted 16 hours ago (edited) Every gas fill-up there is a very strong Gas smell near the rear and drivers side near filler tube. Smell pretty much stops when the gas level get down 3/4 of a tank. Shop says the gas tank had leak so we replaced fuel tank and fuel pump for $2500. This did not solve gas smell problem. We replaced the Purge Valve, and entire EVAP system. Still has gas smell. My mechanic can't figure it out. They did smoke test and could not locate any leaks. Has anybody experienced this? It's the first I hear of this here on the forum, so makes me question the diagnostics that led to all those parts being replaced - might want to consider a different mechanic/service shop.
