trtaylor
I have a 2017 Ford Edge Titanium that produces a loud rattle from the right rear when driving over a significant rough area on the road. Or something that imparts a sudden up/down movement to the rear suspension. For example, driving over a speed bump slightly faster than I should. It is not a persistent rattle. It is quite loud when it occurs. Otherwise the vehicle is quiet. The first thing I thought of was something not secured in the spare tire storage area. But that wasn't it. Everything is secured in that area. I know it is a silly description, but it actually sounds like there is a box full of dinner dishes in the back. They would not rattle just driving down the road. But they would rattle quite loudly if going over a speed bump. Are there known issues with any of the rear suspension components? The next time it goes in for an oil change, I will ask the service tech to put it on a lift to see if something is loose or broken. Is there a chance it is coming from the rear liftgate? Like most issues, it has probably occurred in others. So I thought I'd ask here. Thanks. Tim
