Ronno6
Is there a USB connectable CD player that will work in my 2024 Edge w/SYNC 4 ?? We like to listen to audio books when traveling. I have tried ripping to USB flashdrives, and have had some success. Getting all MP3 tags in order is very tedious and time consuming. But, i find playback to be tedious and extremely distracting. i have loaded on MP3 players and that plays OK, but, again, distracting. And the only usable way to play the MP3 player thru the stereo is by using an FM modulator to transmit to the Edge radio. Plugging in a suitable CD player would make things much easier............or, even an in-dash unit..
Wubster100
A portable CD player with a Bluetooth output is probably your best bet.
Ronno6
I am not sure that any Bluetooth device will work with SYNC 4 Do BT CD players have the "Pairing" function? Do they need to have one? Much I do not know. Seems to me that somewhere I informed that only devices compatible with Apple Carplay will connect...

You are able to connect using Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto. 8 hours ago, Ronno6 said: Do BT CD players have the "Pairing" function? Do they need to have one? The CD player would need the ability to connect to and output to a Bluetooth speaker. The car acts as a Bluetooth speaker.

Ronno6
Well, put me in the oven and call me a biscuit......A CD player that works via USB !! Even controllable via steering wheel controls.......... Problem solved...except....where to mount it. Looks like the flat tray above the infotainment screen........I just hope it won't overheat in the sun.... Anyone have a recommendation? Ronno6 Posted yesterday at 12:19 AM Author Report Share Posted yesterday at 12:19 AM Actually, I have cycled back to the flash drive USB method. I rip each audiobook CD as a single track, and give minimal ID tag information..... Book Title, Author and disc # of the set. Rip as 1 track, then add a name for each disc using an MP3Tag editor. Tracks and discs play in order now. A bit more tedious to copy to the flash drive, but much easier to use in the Edge. No cumbersome CD's to fidget with......
