2010 Ford Edge Purchase

We live in Tucson, AZ and purchased a 2010 Ford Edge 2wd Limited, which we love. When car shopping, our first requirement was that it would "tow flat" behind our RV. Second requirement was that it was pretty---which it is---Cinnamon Metallic. Our only regret is that the interior is the camel leather color, which shows all dirt and denim blue from our jeans. It came with trailer tow package, 20" tires and vista roof. We have not had the opportunity to tow this vehicle yet, but will be going out soon. Just received the Roadmaster Tow brackets, and they will be installed, by us. Wondering if any of you have installed brackets yourself and could share pointers with us before we tackle this task.

This is a follow-up to our first post concerning our 2010 Ford Edge. We've had the Edge 6 months now and really enjoy it. The camel color interior is okay, but you must keep wiping it down to keep it clean. Since we picked this car because it tows flat behind our RV, our initial post was asking if anyone had installed Roadmaster Tow Brackets. We received no response on that. We have successfully installed the Roadmaster Tow Brackets ourselves. A word to the wise: Follow instructions to the letter, especially when it comes to trimming the grill. We just finished a 5 thousand mile cross-country trip, towing the Edge and all went well, as far as how it tows. Our only problem was with the car battery. We found that you must start the car at each and every stop. Our battery had to be replaced half way through the trip.

Just purchased a 2011 edge with light stone leather seats, I never thought of the cleaning issue, yikes! Hope mine won't do the same. Is there anything you can apply to the leather that seems to help? Thanks, btw, I haven't taken delivery of the vehicle yet, might be here in 3 to 4 weeks. thanks

I'm sorry I didn't see your post before, or I would have responded.

I am looking to flat tow my edge also. Which brake system did you use for the toad?
