spongers Posted February 23, 2011 Report Share Posted February 23, 2011 I am looking at upgrading my door speakers in my 2011 SEL (without the Sony system) with component speakers for the front, with external tweeters. I would like to install them into the stock location in the A-Pillar, and can just purchase the pillar from ford (For $95 per pillar using part number 03589), but I was wondering if anyone has tried this and if there was any custom cutting or alignment work involved with making an aftermarket tweeter fit into the stock location. I guess the first place to start would be if anyone knew the size of the mounting area of the factory tweeter, and "how" it mounts (the style of mounting bracket) to the a pillar trim panel.
