MHOsborn
Our month old Edge developed its first problem today. The driver's door won't open from the outside...only from the inside. At first, it was weird, as when I unlocked the door with the key fob, the lock raised up...then right back down. It did this a couple of more times when I clicked the key fob. Then I tried unlocking the door with the key...got the post to raise up, but the door still doesn't open. I'll have to take it to the dealer tomorrow morning and, hopefully, have them fix it while I wait.
rehtaf
Sorry the hear that. If its the dealer you got it from they should give you a loner car so you dont have to wait. Have to ask though cause they will not offer one on there own. reh

No idea what might have happened before....if I had hit something on the keyless entry keypad or the key fob, I don't see how that would have affected only the driver's door. When it happened, the car was outside (and had been sitting in the driveway all day). I moved it into the garage (that's when I noticed the problem). Wonder if it could be heat related somehow? (And I suspect that, if the door works fine for the dealer, there's not much they'll do).
rehtaf
the lock raised up...then right back down. Somethings broken inside the door. Probably just a pin. Don't worry, it can be fixed easily. It'll take longer to get the door apart than fixing the problem.
jpark
Ford did a great job on the Edge's door panel design. No more broken plastic pins. They simply unscrew and pull away.
