Aftermarket Trailer Hitch power wiring route

I purchased an aftermarket trailer hitch and all that is left is to do the wiring to the battery. I wanted to know what route have some of you used (without having the wire exposed under the frame) to get it to the battery. Or have some of you spliced the power from another source (ie: Power Liftgate, rear 12v plug)

I drilled a hole in the fire wall. It worked for me.

What's wrong with outside the vehicle? The hitch is outside and the battery is outside so why run wire into the interior and then back out again? Just make sure your wiring is properly insulated and protected from heat and moving parts and it will be fine for years to come.

Do you have a diagram of how to access it..

Grab the left rear cargo panel and pull. From what I remember it just pops off. I didn't have to remove it completely - just enough to access the wire on the back of the outlet. Note this is on a MKX - I'm assuming the Edge is similar.
