Same build here too. I think you have the vin ending in 6397 right? I have the same config as that one, almost all options in black of course. I think I saw your sitting behind the fence on the pictures that you posted earlier (wishful thinking)(2nd picture posted I believe). The car looks very slick and the tires are mega small profile. I might blacken out the logo on the front, it really stands out, in my opinion. I cant wait for you to get the car and report your experiences with it.

Hello and I was in the same boat as you. I had a BMW X5 8cyl. with all the options. It was very expensive but I really loved the ride. I have a Ford Edge Sport on order with all the options. I chose between that and the MKX fully loaded. The MKX only comes with the large engine (3.7 6cyl). The Edge Sport has that engine too. The Edge limited, SE and SEL only have the 3.5 6cyl. with a future option for the ecoboost engine. You are correct about the interior stuff being different and maybe the leather is a little different in the MKX. Personally I chose the Edge Sport because I like the interior and exterior better than the MKX. It is sportier in my opinion. The MKX is more refined than sporty. The price being cheaper is also something to consider. I really dont think the difference is worth it for the MKX if you compare fully loaded options. It boiled down to style for me. In terms of performance, I know that I may be stepping down a little, but we will see when I do the actual driving of the new sport model. My old car cost 90% more than this one. I doubt the performance will be too much of a change. I can buy another whole car with the money I will be saving....HMMM (boss maybe??). Best of luck making your decision.

It is really a site to see, and I am glad that I am all the way down in south florida, because I would be going nuts if I could see my car sitting behind a fence with no access to it. Hopefully the cars will get out of detention soon. I need mine here. Thanks again for the hope uplift.

Just wanted to take a survey. Who has ordered a new 2011 Edge Sport. What is your city and state or country? I am in South Florida, USA and ordered on June 14. No delivery ETA yet. My dealership (4 locations) shows they have about a dozen in shipment currently. All SE, SEL and Limited models.

Hello everyone, Just wanted to update everyone. I ordered my 11 sport on June 14. About 2.5-3 weeks ago I finally got my Vin. Then about 2 weeks ago I got the update from CRC that the build date was the week of Aug 30th, just like many others. I called CRC again on Monday this week and they told me that the order was submitted to the manufacturing floor and it was being built. Today I check the new URL (they added a hash key to the old link) for my sticker (thanks for the new link, somebody). As of today I have a window sticker. Glad the order is correct and all my features are in it. While it has been interesting and nail biting waiting, I am glad to hear that they are to be shipping and that issues seem to be found and resolved (fingers crossed). Glad my build was now and not weeks ago for repair issues. Anyway, if I hear an ETA, I will update.

Wow, opened everyones wounds again. I feel all our pain... I placed my order on June 14. Do you have a number for CRC? I can at least try to get a dealer code and order # if they cant provide me a VIN. Even with knowing that production would start nearly a month after my order date and that it would take some time to build, park, fix, park, ship, pickup; the dealership made me laugh when they said, "Be excited, in 6 to 8 weeks you will be driving your new car." I laughed and told him, I will bet you your commision on that one. I doubt I will have a VIN OR a commision anytime soon... Bad part is, tomorrow I bring my BMW X5 4.8 back in to BMW on lease end. I will miss it dearly, while still excited for an American replica. The cars are similar except for price and hp (handling is still questionable since nobody has driven a Sport yet except for the articles). On the bright side, a very kind friend is letting me borrow his 2 week old Ford F150 for a month. He is happy to be forced into driving his convertible Shelby GT500 in the mean time, lol.

Hello Everyone, Spoke with my salesman today and he said that they had a corporate rep at the dealership yesterday with a 2011 Edge Limited. The day was for training for training the dealership (probably the sales only). They went over the whole car and were really excited about the new myFord stuff and everything else. Guess Ford is getting ready for the shipping to begin to the dealers. Glad to hear they have done this, since the sales force seemed to know less than the web page has shown for months and months. Dealership is in Delray Beach Florida (south florida, palm beach county). They still dont have my VIN available for my Sport order and promise this time for this Friday (we will see, they have promised for 3 weeks already, but what can you do?)

I also have a 2011 sport on order. Your comment that the mytouch and sync system are causing a delay worries me. Is that why the plant is down for 2 months or is that normal? Or does it mean that they will be pushing out non mytouch vehicles until they fix the problem and delay delay delay our cars?
