  1. hey bud i live in boca also i have 2007 edge do you anyone selling sport wheels

  2. Hello Everyone, Long time and messages from me. Hello to those still around from the first days of 2011 ordering. I have almost 12k miles on my 2011 Edge Sport. Not 1 issue yet mechanically. The MFT is still not updated and the version is ummm... ORIGINAL. No problems though I have one of the first few shipments out of the factory when they actually started shipping. With almost 12k miles on the car, I can say it still feels very new and responsive. It is definitely no 450+ horsepower vehicle it is quick for its get up and go. A friend has a new Explorer and it feels slower and heavier. My tire wear is ok (I drive mostly highway 2.2 hours a day). I have to go in for another oil change and consider the software updates every time I think about it. Still get compliments on wheels and tires.
  3. they are the same nuts. one is chrome and the other is black chrome. check out the pics above for the black chrome (very cool) and then pics on page 1 for reg. chrome. they both fit
  4. Dont stop with assisting them. Give them a bill when your done. Maybe hold a training class on USB cords and a crash course on "finding better excuses". I dont know who to blame, our failing school systems or the service managers or just piss poor attitudes in general. I hear a lot of bad things happening (from this site) and too many excuses from service depts. I just refuse to accept that the mechanics and Ford training is that DUMB. Does everything need to be color coded for our workforce? Take the red clip and plug it into the green thing.. Now hit the purple button and then call the customer and tell them it will take another day. Now work on a billable ticket. Now fire up the 300 baud modem and start the download by hitting the black button. Sorry, I just feel like the Indian on the horse watching littering while a tear runs down my face. (Those that remember that commercial will understand). My parents are in their 60s and are more computer technical than Ford techs (sorry, mechanics). I feel NO mercy for the mechanics AT ALL. There are NO EXCUSES for them, period, especially since nobody in that department is over 50 nowadays. My Andy Roony moment is over now. By the way, I have no issues with my car, nor any service issues. I am just amazed that so many people see problems at the dealer side of the equation. Ford really needs to either train more or force their dealers to hire smarter people that can read the minds of the builders and engineers. Everyone have a great new year and stay safe on those roads.
  5. When you say they werent long enough, are you saying they are too short or are you talking about the 1/2 inch diameter is not right? Here is a link to the manufacturers web page. http://www.gorilla-auto.com/gorilla.locks.page_25 Also check out the New System ones, that is the package. Also I see you ordered the Black Chrome. Please take a picture, would love to see how the black looks on the black 22s.
  6. I have had mine for 3 months and the NAV does speak street names most of the time. I wouldnt say that I use it every day, but about once a week. It is strange how it sometimes selects the names vs. road numbers and sometimes nothing. In south florida the streets are really well documented on all systems out there and this one as well. Sometimes it will say turn left on FL401 (example number) and then on a return trip it will say turn right onto glades road. No rhyme or reason that I can see but those are the same streets at the same intersection, I was just going different directs on the approach to the intersection and then it just picks a name (correct one). It is a nicer system than my old 2007 BMW.
  7. I have had the same issue happen to me 4 times. Strangely enough it happened at the same place every time. I was driving from different beginning locations to the same client. It always happened withing about half a mile of the last time it did on the same street. I get the sound and alert screen and the blind spot lights stay on. Then one time it happened as I was leaving that same client and going down the road the other way (it happened at the same place). I think it might have something to do with RF interference or something. It is just to strange that it always happens at that place. And in over 3 months driving too. A simple turn off of the car and restart fixes the issue. Hope this helps identify something. It is also about 1 mile down the road from my dealer. Maybe it is acting like a dog that got picked up from the rescue center. It wants to turn a "Blind Eye" to it's past.
  8. I would assume that it will expect the recommended manual stated oil. It wont know if you use a long life or short life or cold conditions etc. It may be smarter than the average bear in terms of a car but computers only do what the programmers tell it. I spoke with my cousin who is a supervisor in service dept at a dealer in SC and he said that 3k miles is the recommended minimum for the first change and then follow the computer after that. I trust his opinion since he is always the first guy to go to all training in Atlanta at Ford. He had no real comments on computer issues either. He hasnt seen any and was shocked to hear the MFT issues with some vehicles. He also told me to wait for updates to get worked out on other peoples cars first before taking the chance of bricking mine since 99 percent of mine works.
  9. I think it might be the MFT screen bomb ticking down. No, seriously, dont notice anything like that on my 3 month old.
  10. I am very pleased with the HD radio. HD radio quality REALLY depends on your location and population density. I am in South Florida (West Palm Beach, Fort Lauderdale, Miami) I actually get MORE HD channels than regular channels. Each HD channel get 3 total subchannels. I have a great diversity of music flavors and the quality is great. I usually listen to Sirius or my USB stick.
  11. I wouldnt be surprised if someone adds that feature in the future in the developers kit. Speed is one of the parameters that is available in the dev. kit. Hopefully they build an application with some sort of TRIP report so that you can see fuel usage, speeds, type of roads etc.....
  12. I built my own. Went to the dollar store and picked up a thin thermal beer can coozie. Outside was orange with a picture of a black pumpkim scary face. the inside is black. I cut it to size with a double overlap on what is the front and then used my sister and a sewing machine (I may be handy but not with a sewing machine). In the end I have a really cool slipper (for lack of a better term) for my fob. The reason for making it was I would constantly find the rear hatch opened already when I went to the car. BOOO!!!!! I found out the first day that I had the car that you MUST remove the key ring and any keys from the fob. The diameter of the ring was just right to hit the buttons. Very frustrating. Only set the alarm off twice on day one. Obviously, this is because I am male with key in front pocket and not in a purse. I will post some picks if anyone interested. But still looking for a cool case. I might consider it if the price is right. This only only cost me $1 in money, 1 hour time with my sister on cool project - priceless, and a ton of less worrying if my rear gate is open in the parking lot at client sites with thousands in inventory in the trunk.
  13. Agree. The original question has a flaw. Answer this then reflect on an answer. Concerning Japanese Auto Makers, how many people DIED, were injured, had accidents before the issues made ANY news nationally/ globally? How many model YEARS did they go back and fix after it was public, 1 year or MANY? Do you really think they didnt know about some of those issues when they shipped the cars? Do you think they would have ever responded and fixed what they did IF it wasnt "news" and didnt have the amount of attention it did? Plus, the newspapers and news channels LOVE negative news. If they knew and could validate it, it would be out there. Its seems to be what they live for. While this is a sad issue for Ford, Ford's reputation and the innocent buyers, it just hasnt made waves yet.
  14. I wish the best for you and new vehicle tomorrow. I agree with your comments listed, BUT there is a clear difference between being pissed and venting AND posting ALL over the place. I want to know good and bad and read it all also. What makes me upset is when I read the SAME post COPIED on several threads. Its just too much, I got it the first time. NOW, if this forum was hosted by FORD and they communicated back with the customers, that would be a different situation because you would have the attention of someone. But from what I see, we are all just civilians here and there are no senators representing us within the walls of Ford Motor Company. I feel everyone's aggravation and it is amazing of the lack of communication and support between corp and dealers and the end user. I just dont know if it would be different from any other vendor. All I have ever gotten from other vendors in the past has been a free coffee and many "We are so sorry" and that they will make it right asap. FORD needs to inspect the vehicles a lot better and pay special attention to any NEW systems they put in a new model. They dont make all the sub-components in a vehicle but a vendor and FORD have let these vehicles leave the factory without proper testing AND should be ashamed of themselves. I only have the minor issues, 8" nighlight and such and will wait for next rev of software to be tested fully before doing an update. I only hope that all with the severe troubles take there cars in and get a loaner or DONT accept delivery of the car. If there are safety issues, I wouldnt want to be in a 10 year court case against FORD for any injuries I, my passengers might have from a potential accident.

    Snow

RII420, First I would like to congratulate you on your purchase. I have had my AWD Tux Black Sport for nearly 3 months now. I really enjoy the vehicle and it handles very well. I am in Florida, so I cannot comment on snow conditions but I can comment on the excellent handling in rain, heavy rain and super heavy rain conditions. I have never had any issues even at 70mph in heavy rain conditions. The only movement on the vehicle is if there is a heavy crosswind and that only tends to SLIGHTLY tilt the vehicle for a second or so. I think everyone understands the tilt I am talking about but this vehicle is pretty low to the ground and it keeps its footing. My last car was a BMW X5 and it stood higher off the ground. It also has superb handling in the heavy rain conditions but would tilt more due to heavy crosswinds. It did have a higher center of gravity, still felt safe at higher speeds, but the Edge strangely feels safer at half the price. Far as snow, best wishes...
