  1. I have not experienced this on my 2010 Edge....it's got 39K miles.
  2. Yes...both of my bolts are capped with plastic covers.
  3. I have Sync Version Gen. 1-v3.1 installed on my vehicle. I did remove/install my cell battery and I was able to connect with an incoming call...perhaps I pushed the "phone" button on the steering wheel differently or it might have been a coincidence remains to be seen. Hopefully, it will continue to work. Thanks for your suggestions.
  4. I can remove/replace phone battery without any problems...but do I have to do the whole deleting/pairing routine for your second suggestion?
  5. I have a 2010 Edge. I haven't had any problems with the sync until a few days ago. While driving, my cell phone and the sync began to ring. I pressed the 'phone' button on the steering wheel like I have done in the past to connect, but the cell phone did not connect with the sender. I have to press the receive button on the cell phone in order to connect with the caller. I can send calls through sync by giving voiice commands without any problems. What can be done? Thanks.
  6. I think I have solved the mystery of the cruise cutting out. I like to drive with my hands at the bottom of the steering wheel.. The finger on my left hand must have touched the OFF button without me knowing it. It's very sensitive. On my last long trip, I did notice that I touched the OFF button... very slightly and the cruise went OFF!!!
  7. So, does this mean that it's acceptable? Is the back bumper hanging lower on the right side? If that's all it is then I won't be concerned. Thanks.
  8. Hopefully, I did what you suggested. I measured directly from top the tire, above, to the bottom of the wheelwell. Here are the measurements: RR.. 5 1/2 in LR..5 3/4 in...RF...8 1/4 in LF... 8 1/4 in. It would appear that the difference between the left and right sides is only 1/4 in and not 1 in. ...I would think that I wouldn't have noticed that.
  9. Measuring through the center of the wheels, I found the distances from the garage floor to the bottom of the wheel fenders to be as follows: Right front...33 1/2 in. Left front...33 5/8 in .... Right rear..33 in and Left rear..33 1/2 in. The distance from the bottom of the tailpipe to the floor is 12 in on the right side and 12 1/2 in on the left.
  10. I just noticed that my 2010 Edge is lower on the passenger side, looking from the rear, by about 1 inch. The car is parked in my garage. I'm using a line on the rear bumper as a reference point. I've got about 10K on the car. I do have some things stored in the spare tire area, fairly well distributed and I don't think that they would weight that much to drop the spring(?) by an inch. I guess I did notice this before, but didn't think anything of it until today. Should I be concerned about this or is it within accepted limits? I would hate to sit around at the dealers for a minor thing... Thanks.
  11. The cruise cut out again and I drove right to the dealer right away.. They found that I had problem code C 1963. They reprogrammed the ABS module. We'll see if that solved the problem.
  12. Aha...found the other push button and turned the headrests around...I agree, they are a bit too far back. Thanks.
  13. I find it uncomfortable to sit with the way the headrest is set up on my 2010 Edge. I've raised the headrest up as far as it will go and it's better now but not the most comfortable. I wonder if I take the headrest out and turn it around if that would be better, but I can't take the headrest out. I've tried pushing the tab in and pulling the headrest up, but it won't come off! Any suggestions? Thanks.
  14. Since the cruise has cut out 2 or 3 more times since my last post, I don't want to waste time taking the car to the dealer because they probably 'can't find' anything wrong since it's not doing it on a regular basis. Is this malfunction stored in the car's computer and for how long? Someone told me that the info stays in the computer for up to 10 car starts and then it's deleted ? Comments? Thanks.
  15. I am taking my first long trip with my 2010 Edge that has about 5000 mi on it. After driving several hours on the second day, my cruise cuts out. I have to turn it on again and set the speed and it works for several hours more without any problems. It did not happen again for another day. In other cars that I have owned, sometimes the cruise would cut out when you go over a sharp dip on the road, all I had to do then is only reset speed. With my Edge, the road is flat and smooth and I didn't touch the brake when the cruise cut out. Has anyone experienced this kind of behavior and what was done about it? Thanks.
  16. Thanks...I now get the picture! I'll give it a try. When I looked from the inside of the open door towards the engine compartment, I could see right through...there was nothing blocking my view to the front of the car! What was there, might have been bent downwards (?) In any case, I put some large pieces of foam in the gap..hopefully it might cut down the air flow. I feel that Ford should be compensating you guys for redesigning their cars! I'll keep you posted.
  17. Thanks for responding. I eagerly await your suggestions.

  18. I followed up a little on blankster's post and took a look from the inside of the open door towards the hood. To my surprise, I could see right through to the front of the car!. There was nothing between the hood area and the driver's door. There is a barrier between the hood area and the passenger door! I wish that blankster could tell me more specifically where he would put the foam...that might clear up my problem. Re blink19's suggestion: I folded the mirror in and I think that it made a difference but it is very windy today...too much crosswind. I'll try again when the conditions are better for testing.
  19. I'm also having a 'whispering or chirping' noise coming from the upper left corner of the driver's door of my 2010 Edge. The dealer replaced the rubber seal around the whole door but the noise is still there, only when going 55+ and then it seems to depend on wind directions. I am interested in both msmeg's and blankster's solution attempts. Could blankster explain what A and B pillars are and clarify a little more where to put the foam under the hood? Could msmeg be a little more specific where he put his foam? I would greatly appreciate getting that info because the noise, although not loud, is very annoying when driving at highway speeds for a long time. Thanks.
  20. When I bought my 2010 Edge in August, 2010, I didn't notice any noise coming from the driver's door. That could have been because I had the sunroof open most of the time when driving . Now I hear, what I can best describe is a low 'whispering or chirping' noise coming from the upper left corner of the driver's door. The catch is that it only happens when I'm doing 55 + and then sometimes, I hear nothing. I have taped and plugged just about every crack around the door and the dealer has replaced the rubber seal around the door..but the noise is still there. I must admit that it is not a loud noise, but when driving for hours on the highway, it can be very annoying. Turning the radio up does help, but my ear drums won't last too long. I have never heard any wind noise coming from doors in vehicles that I have owned before except from crosswinds and I can live with that. I am sorry to say that this is my first Ford product and I hope that's not an indication of bad things to come. Generally, I am pleased with the car. The dealer, so far has been cooperative, but I have a feeling that this is something that I'm going to have to learn to live with. Is there anything that I can do about this? Are there places that specialize in wind noise removal? Thanks.
  21. Hi...i don't know if I'm experiencing the same problem as described at the beginning of this thread. I've had the 2010 Edge, 2 wd , since August and it has about 4800 mi on it. This has happened to me twice so far...about a month apart. I'll try and describe it as best I can. After coming to a stop, when I give it some gas to start moving again, nothing happens for about a second and then the tranny kicks in and I begin to move. It feels like I'm ' popping' the clutch like I did in my younger days. The first time it happened, I thought that I might have been on something slippery on the road and the wheels didn't grab right away. The second time it happened the road was completely dry. I haven't gone to the dealer yet because it isn't happening on a regular basis and the techies can't do anything unless it's happening all the time. After I a have this delay problem, everything runs smoothly like nothing happened. Please let me know if I should be going to the dealer and quoting the above mentioned service bulletins. Thanks.
  22. Go to syncmyride.com It will explain what to do to get your version of SYNC and how to update if necessary. I would imagine that a dealer could do the update...
  23. Ooops!!! I was premature !! It seems that you have to wait quite a while before all of the info gets registered...I did my updating yesterday and the changes were not noted at that time, but this morning I did find that my cell didn't work so I had to 'pair ' it again and my SYNC version is now 3.1 ! All's well. Thanks.
