  1. After 1.5 hours at the dealer, they cut and programmed a new key for me. They could not reprogram the original key and could not tell me why it happened. Just glad its done.
  2. My key to my 6 month old '07 Edge stopped working today. It seems to be a chip problem as the key still works to lock and unlock to door. I was able to use my spare key to start the car. Has this ever happened to anyone? I would have been pretty mad if it didnt happen in my driveway. I will call my dealer first thing in the morning. I would assume that this would be covered by the warranty.
  3. Well, I guess I jinxed myself...the unit isnt working at all now. With the holiday I doubt that I will get the new unit installed until later next week. I wonder if it is worth asking for them to extend my 6 months free since for the inconvenience?
  4. I dropped my car off at the dealer yesterday and they witnessed the fault issue. They took the unit apart and said that they needed to order a new satellite module. They will call me when it comes in and reinstall it. The funny thing is since they played around with it, it hasnt faulted once. Although I now seem to have more signal drops and garbled sound. Hopefully the new module will fix it.
  5. I had to reschedule the appt to this Tuesday. I will hopefully have good news to report on Tue night.
  6. The issue that I'm having is not a signal loss. That has happened in the past in heavy tree cover or under overpasses. This issue states "Sat Fault" on the display. It really seems to be when the car is cold. This morning it took 10 minutes to kick in. I stopped for a few minutes and when I got back in the car it worked fine. When I went to lunch and when I left work for home, it faulted again. Since my commute is only 10-15 minutes, it defeats the purpose of having Sirius. Hopefully the dealer can fix it.
  7. Thanks... I went to my dealer at lunchtime yesterday and made an appointment. I was hoping they could look at it then since it was happening but they made me an appointment for next week. I have to leave the car overnight since it started happening when the car is cold. Thanks for the advice!
  8. My Sirius was installed by the dealer before delivery (could not find one equipped with it so the added it for me @ no charge). Recently, I've been getting a Sat Fault error on a cold start of the car. Sometimes the Sat kicks in after a minute but lately it has been taking between 5 & 15 minutes to kick in. Is this a common issue with Sat Radios or should I have them service it. One thing to note, when they installed the antenae, they put it next to the radio antenae in the front of the car. When it is factory installed, it is on the rear wing. I didnt realize that until after it was installed. Could this be part of the issue?
  9. While in the "free" period, are you able to register with Sirius online to be able to listen via the internet? The only option I see on their website is to activate a radio.
  10. I noticed that rattle also. I sat in the back seat and pushed up on that black ring. It stopped the rattle. But it started again a day or so later. I "fixed" it again and it hasnt started up again. I will make an appt to have it fixed correctly.
  11. Interesting, mine was mounted right next to the regular antenae. I was behind an Edge yesterday that looked the it was mounted by the wing. If it is factory installed is there a second antenae or do the use the one for the radio?
  12. Thanks for the reply. I'm gonna leave it alone and see what happens. When they installed your unit, did they add an external antenae? I was under the impression that the antenae on the roof was used for both the radio and the Sirius. They told me that the radio was "Sirius compatible" so I assumed the antenae was also. Not that I can change it now but I hate that they had to break the weather seal on the front window to put this in. My husband is concerned about water issues down the line.
  13. My Edge did not have Sirius factory installed so my dealer put it in for free for me. I picked up the car from the service dept yesterday. They handed me a Sirius brochure and a piece of paper with the serial number and phone number for Sirius. When I got in the car the Sirius was activated. My question is, when it is installed in the factory, does the owner have to register/activate the account or is it done for you by the dealer? I 'assumed' that I was getting the same 6 months free that I would have gotten if it was installed by the factory. I called Sirius and they said the unit is registered to the dealer. When I called the Service advisor, he had no clue. Any thoughts on how this should work?
  14. I just picked up my '07 AWD Edge. My dealer has been trying to locate one for me for almost a month. I really wanted the Creme Bruele but ended up with Redfire (my old car was red and was looking for a change). They had located a different red one but the dealer they were getting it from sold it. They finally found this one. The only thing it was missing was the Sat radio (they will be installing it for me in the next week or so). I really like the ride of this car. It is extremely comfortable. I will try to post some pics soon. SEL+ AWD - Redfire Black (or whatever Ford calls it) interior BAMR Reverse Sensing Audiophile 18" wheels and hopefully soon Sirius
