After 1.5 hours at the dealer, they cut and programmed a new key for me. They could not reprogram the original key and could not tell me why it happened. Just glad its done.

My key to my 6 month old '07 Edge stopped working today. It seems to be a chip problem as the key still works to lock and unlock to door. I was able to use my spare key to start the car. Has this ever happened to anyone? I would have been pretty mad if it didnt happen in my driveway. I will call my dealer first thing in the morning. I would assume that this would be covered by the warranty.

Well, I guess I jinxed myself...the unit isnt working at all now. With the holiday I doubt that I will get the new unit installed until later next week. I wonder if it is worth asking for them to extend my 6 months free since for the inconvenience?

I dropped my car off at the dealer yesterday and they witnessed the fault issue. They took the unit apart and said that they needed to order a new satellite module. They will call me when it comes in and reinstall it. The funny thing is since they played around with it, it hasnt faulted once. Although I now seem to have more signal drops and garbled sound. Hopefully the new module will fix it.

I had to reschedule the appt to this Tuesday. I will hopefully have good news to report on Tue night.

The issue that I'm having is not a signal loss. That has happened in the past in heavy tree cover or under overpasses. This issue states "Sat Fault" on the display. It really seems to be when the car is cold. This morning it took 10 minutes to kick in. I stopped for a few minutes and when I got back in the car it worked fine. When I went to lunch and when I left work for home, it faulted again. Since my commute is only 10-15 minutes, it defeats the purpose of having Sirius. Hopefully the dealer can fix it.

Thanks... I went to my dealer at lunchtime yesterday and made an appointment. I was hoping they could look at it then since it was happening but they made me an appointment for next week. I have to leave the car overnight since it started happening when the car is cold. Thanks for the advice!

My Sirius was installed by the dealer before delivery (could not find one equipped with it so the added it for me @ no charge). Recently, I've been getting a Sat Fault error on a cold start of the car. Sometimes the Sat kicks in after a minute but lately it has been taking between 5 & 15 minutes to kick in. Is this a common issue with Sat Radios or should I have them service it. One thing to note, when they installed the antenae, they put it next to the radio antenae in the front of the car. When it is factory installed, it is on the rear wing. I didnt realize that until after it was installed. Could this be part of the issue?

While in the "free" period, are you able to register with Sirius online to be able to listen via the internet? The only option I see on their website is to activate a radio.

I noticed that rattle also. I sat in the back seat and pushed up on that black ring. It stopped the rattle. But it started again a day or so later. I "fixed" it again and it hasnt started up again. I will make an appt to have it fixed correctly.

Interesting, mine was mounted right next to the regular antenae. I was behind an Edge yesterday that looked the it was mounted by the wing. If it is factory installed is there a second antenae or do the use the one for the radio?

Thanks for the reply. I'm gonna leave it alone and see what happens. When they installed your unit, did they add an external antenae? I was under the impression that the antenae on the roof was used for both the radio and the Sirius. They told me that the radio was "Sirius compatible" so I assumed the antenae was also. Not that I can change it now but I hate that they had to break the weather seal on the front window to put this in. My husband is concerned about water issues down the line.

My Edge did not have Sirius factory installed so my dealer put it in for free for me. I picked up the car from the service dept yesterday. They handed me a Sirius brochure and a piece of paper with the serial number and phone number for Sirius. When I got in the car the Sirius was activated. My question is, when it is installed in the factory, does the owner have to register/activate the account or is it done for you by the dealer? I 'assumed' that I was getting the same 6 months free that I would have gotten if it was installed by the factory. I called Sirius and they said the unit is registered to the dealer. When I called the Service advisor, he had no clue. Any thoughts on how this should work?

I just picked up my '07 AWD Edge. My dealer has been trying to locate one for me for almost a month. I really wanted the Creme Bruele but ended up with Redfire (my old car was red and was looking for a change). They had located a different red one but the dealer they were getting it from sold it. They finally found this one. The only thing it was missing was the Sat radio (they will be installing it for me in the next week or so). I really like the ride of this car. It is extremely comfortable. I will try to post some pics soon. SEL+ AWD - Redfire Black (or whatever Ford calls it) interior BAMR Reverse Sensing Audiophile 18" wheels and hopefully soon Sirius

Your new Edge wouldnt happen to be red would it? My dealer located one for me in MA with the same options. The dealer in MA had it on hold but then sold it before I could get it. It would be funny if it was yours. How did you get a 2k rebate, did it go up? It is 1750 in CT. I'm in FL on vacation this week and I am looking while I'm here. Unfortunately, the dealer here cannot process a out of state lease and I doubt my dealer will want to transport it to CT with Xplan pricing.

I'm jealous! She got the car I want. I live in CT and cannot find an AWD Creme Bruelle. My dealer has searched 3 states so far and cant find the trim I'm looking for. We finally got a line on my second color choice (red), I was going to pick it up last night and the other dealer sold it out from underneath me. So, now we are back on the hunt. Maybe I will be lucky enough to get exactly what I want!

When I asked for a breakdown they told me that it was for the paperwork and that I paid it in the past (I am currently in a Chrysler lease with the same dealership). I was told on another board that they cannot charge a doc fee but wanted to see it in writing. I have to meet with the dealer tomorrow. I will be sure to have it removed or I will walk. I'm sorry to hear about your issues. I am in the market for an Edge and I am also from CT. I'm not sure if, on this site, you are allowed to tell me the name of the dealer but I know at least 2 that match your description (Rt 1). I am currently working with one of them and I would really like to know which one did this. While I've had previous experience with my dealer, as they turnover employees, experiences change.

Thanks for the replies everyone, they are appreciated. I'm glad to hear that the BAMR is quiet. It is a real nice feature. My husband hears noises that I never hear...and of course my response always is to just turn up the stereo...LOL! Seriously, he doesnt care what I get. I'm the one who will drive it 98% of the time and since we are looking at a short term lease, if we hate it (which I doubt we will), it wont be ours for long. Thanks for the info regarding Edmonds. I have used there site before but never noticed that area. I got some great information there today. Based on some of the posts there, my numbers dont sound so good.

We test drove an Edge yesterday and we are going to have our dealer locate one for us. They only have 3 on their lot. I looked through this forum to see if anyone has had issues with the BAMR. My husband feels that a openning that size will cause body flex and add to cabin noise (when closed). I would love to hear opinions from this group before I make my decision. Also, since I am using X-plan and leasing, what if any negotiating room do I have. We asked for a quote on one of the cars on the lot to get a ballpark figure before I start having them find one that I want. Of course, all I got was the montly charge. MSRP 33,000, 36 months, 12k miles = 450 (or 475 for 15k). Does this sound reasonable. I keep seeing ads for and SEL Edge for 249. I'm sure that is a base model and before taxes but this is a big difference. Its been years since I leased from Ford, the saleman told me property taxes are included in the payment. Is that true? Chrysler billed me for my Pacifica. Any help you can give is appreciated. Ellen

Thanks... I will do that. I live in West Haven and I have a dealer around the corner from my house and another one down the street from where I work. I've purchased cars from both. I went to Steven's today at lunch and they only had 3 on the lot. The saleman that sold me my current car was out to lunch so I didnt get to ask him. I have to make up my mind on the options. I say I dont need a sun roof but how can you not want this one. I dont need the nav but it would be nice to have. I think I've seem all the color combo's so that part is set. I guess I need to know what the bottom line cost differences will be with the loaded options. I have X-plan, so hopefully with the latest incentives it will be within my budget.

Hi, I am new to this forum. First post. I test drove the Edge a few months ago for the $50 Target gift card (just got it in the mail today). At the time, I had too many months left on my '04 Pacifica lease. Well, time is flying by and my lease is up at the end of Sept. In my area (Southern CT), the pickings of '07 Edge's are getting slim. Will dealers still be getting inventory for the next few weeks or am I stuck with what they have? Also, if I order one now would it be an '07 or '08 and would it be ready by the end of Sept? There are some good incentives on the '07 now but I like some of the new features of the '08. Who knew buying (or in my case leasing) a car would be such a dilemma.
