  1. ditto what tknice said my Limited Edge's interior is nicer than my friend's 2011 BMW X5, and my Edge drives beautifully. 97% of my MyFord Touch works - with the only problem being it is slow for a minute after startup - probably still loading everything. And, no other car has this kind of technology. Bonus is that the software can and will be updated as new features/improvements come along
  2. I read an article online a while back that the current software is Flash-based, and Ford should be updating to quicker software that should speed things up for all of us. The article said the hardware is very robust, but updates to the software will speed up things and hopefully solve some of the bugs.
  3. I as driving in fog a few nights ago as well. The brights blinded me, so I drove with dim lights. The dim lights definitely pointed off toward the passenger side. I assume that's normal.
  4. Exactly. When you're stopped, you're using fuel, but going nowhere. So, your "instant MPG" is going to keep skyrocketing up whle you're motionless.
  5. I do with some contacts, but I haven't come across a way to access that information when I scroll through them in the car -- I was hoping I could just click "set as destination".
  6. I have a HTC "Touch Pro 2" with Windows Mobile OS -- all photos/contacts are sync'd.
  7. I'm not sure what you mean by "app." But, when I sync my smartphone to MyTouch, it automatically uploaded my entire address book and all the contact photos. So, if I get a call from my wife, I see her photo, etc.
  8. I think the Edge can go up to 10,000 miles - it has an intelligent oil minder that tells you when to change based on your driving. (Probably just like the Explorer.)
  9. I agree with Wilson. I wasn't sure about the wood beforehand. Once you see it, you'll want to keep it. Very classy.
  10. I've noticed it takes a few seconds for the the HD signal to tune in. And, when it does (when it jumps from the regular FM to the HD signal), the audio is off slightly, presumably because the different signals coming through the air are not precisely sync'd. As I drive in and out of the HD signal's range, there is a little skipping as the radio jumps between the FM and HD signal. It would seem kind of strange if the timing difference between the FM and HD were a few minutes off.
  11. So, you did not get the headrest DVD? I suggest we also mention the MSRP list price -- in addition to what we actually paid.
  12. I try uploading photos by clicking the "Attach File" button -- it uploads, but doesn't show up... I've tried different browsers. Any advice on how to add a photo?
  13. I'll try to upload a pic soon. I have Black exterior with the Sienna interior. And, I'm loving it. Very classy. I've always preferred light tan interiors in the past, but I am glad I made the change.
  14. Wilsons, did you bring the USB back to your desktop after the update -- so the syncmyride website knows your car has been updated? I tried this a couple weeks ago, and the website kept giving me an error. I contacted Ford and they said my car never needed the update (that you mention) - although apparently my car accepted it. They still didn't solve the problem for me of updating the syncmyride website. (Syncmyride is supposed to track the updates you've done - so it will know when you need a new update.)
  15. The ESN for my Travel Link and the ESN for the radio are the same. And everything is working great.
  16. I've had my Edge for 2 weeks and didn't realize I had Travel Link - but it IS working on my 2011 Edge. (I played with it over lunch hour.) Very cool! I just say "Weather Map" and it brings up the radar map, showing rain moving in. I can say "Fuel Prices" and it brings up the nearest gas stations and the current fuel price at each. VERY COOL. So, just to let you know -- it is working on at least one 2011 Edge.
  17. I live in Kansas -- in Wichita, and I got my 2011 Edge in Iola, KS. The front plate bracket was NOT installed on mine. I found a plastic bag in the car with the screws if I ever want to attach a front plate.
  18. On the MyFord Touch system, one of the options (besides AM/FM, Sirius, CD, etc.) is BT/Stereo (bluetooth). I started up Pandora on my BT-connected phone and pushed the BT/Stereo option. It detected the BT audio feed and started playing Pandora over the car audio system. I imagine you could do the same with your iPhone connected via BT.
  19. This article http://www.crunchgear.com/2010/08/22/driven-2011-ford-edge-and-edge-sport-with-myford-touch/ says.... "In addition, the system needs to be a bit faster in overall operation, but we’ve heard that the initial UI was built in Flash and that engineers are working to improve the software – we’re told the hardware is very robust." Personally, I've noticed there are times when it slows down. I find myself pushing a screen-button several times because it's briefly non-responsive, then it finally catches up and sometimes go farther than I wanted because of too many button pushes. But usually it works fine with a little patience. I do hope to see speed improvements in future updates. And, updating should be easy -- with a USB flash drive, we can download updates from syncmyride.com
  20. I posted something a few days ago on this forum about MyFord Touch, but some moderator must have moved it. I agree, though, the "Sync" forum seems to only be about the pre-2011 (non-Touch) electronics -- so this is a better place to post about MyFord Touch.
  21. I'm in Wichita, KS, and I looked online (fordvehicles.com) for cars being delivered to dealerships around here (I didn't pre-order one). I found one of only 2 black Edge Limiteds in the Midwest about an hour away from me, so I went and bought it last weekend. It has the dark brown Sienna interior, and it looks great (especially with the wood trim). A friend of mine recently bought a 2011 BMW X5 and the interiors of our 2 vehicles look remarkably similar -- except that I have a superior electronics/display, a huge panoramic vista roof and possibly better Sony sound. Just this evening I was listening to Pandora (music over the internet from my phone -- connected via bluetooth).
  22. I normally wouldn't think I'd need an update either, but the sync website showed what I have installed as of August 10 (presumably at the factory), then showed that an update is available too -- with a newer version number. I did hear back from Ford via email saying I don't need an update. (The Sync website still says otherwise.)
  23. I'll ask this here because the "Sync Forum" only seems to contain folks with pre-2011 Syncs (missing the MyFord Touch feature).... Has anyone gone to the syncmyride.com website and downloaded the update. I did, and it said there was an update. I downloaded it and successfully installed it on my 2011 Ford Edge. Then, I brought the USB stick back to my desktop to "report successful install" but I got an error uploading the report. Ford Chat help did NOT help. They said I didn't need an update - I get the impression the chat folks are not as knowledgable on MyFord Touch. I also emailed Sync - which is what it says to do if there's an error when reporting successful installs -- and I'm waiting to hear back. Anyway, I'm curious ... has anyone else successfully done an update? and successfully reported it back to their sync web account?
  24. Last week I bought a 2011 Ford Edge Limited (black with Sienna interior), and I'm loving it. I'm curious about the roof antenna though. I assume it should be removed when going through an automated carwash, correct? If so, how do I remove it or lower it? (I've skimmed the user manuals and don't see anything about this.) Thanks.
