Totally off topic, but you traveled to my 58th birthday in your time machine. Did you get me a present? You mean, it's not? It's late and I'm feeling ornery. :D

Is it possibly formatted NTFS? Edge can only read FAT32. I have favorites in my phone, but in my car I want all of my music. I'll be getting my Edge when just as it's time to switch to Christmas music. Anyway...I've been assembling a lot of info on what Sync needs to use a storage device as a media player. I bought a USB hard drive to use and had work around Windows limitations when formatting drives. Windows can only format up to 32 GB using FAT32. I had to use a separate program to format my HD. I've also learned way more than I ever wanted to know about m3u playlists, but I've worked out how to get all of my music and my playlists from iTunes onto my HD and still have the playlists point to the correct location. Now I'm all set. Just waiting for my Edge. -Tonya

Some people have had problems with the SD card that re-seating it (popping it out and back in again) have fixed. Others had to get new cards from the dealer. You might want to try re-seating it and see if it works. If it doesn't then try another SD card with some music files and see if it can read that card. If it does then it's probably the SD card and not a problem with the reader itself. If it can't read the music files, then it might be a bad SD card reader. Basically, with either a bad SD card or a bad reader you would have to contact your dealer to get fixed. If it's just the SD card, it's a much easier fix that won't mean you lose your MKX while it's in the shop. This is probably more what you were looking for when you originally posted. I just looked at the Ford website. It's not on the either of the choices (Limited or the Sport) when you look at the 360° view. It's not in any of the Gallery shots that I could see.

It's not multi-touch or capacitive like the iPhone. It's touch like an old Palm device you could use a stylus with. The tip of your finger poking it will get you better results. The lower controls around the big knob are capacitive like the iPhone. The pad of your finger pressing will work better. I hope I explained that well. It made sense in my brain when it was explained to me, but I'm a little off.

I'm not even going to pretend to understand how dealer allocation and ordering works. I was surprised that the day I placed my order all of the '11 Edges they had were going out as dealer trades. One of their sales people had ordered one and she let them sell it to someone else who was desperate to buy it. She had to order again. Sync was installed on Oct. 19 according to syncmyride. It's got a loooooooong train ride to Los Angeles. Unloading, loading on the truck and then the couple hour drive to Bakersfield is supposed to take two days. I'm going to the beach Nov 11-14 for Veteran's day weekend and it'll KILL me if it's available early and I'm not here to pick it up. It's way too much to hope for it to get here before I leave. Really? I would love the MKX grill, but couldn't justify the $10k. I like the interior of the Edge much, much better anyway. Not a fan of the gold/brown console.

I ordered from the dealer on Sept 22. If it makes it on the 15th it'll be one week earlier than they originally estimated. Thanks for the welcomes! -Tonya

I'm so excited. I talked to the dealer today and my 2011 Edge Limited with the 302a package + tow in Ingot Silver/Charcoal Black is being built this week. Then around another three weeks until delivery. Looks like somewhere around Nov 15th-ish. I'm a gadget girl and MyFord Touch was a big draw. I've been lurking here since I placed my order, and I'll probably remain mostly a lurker, but I had to thank everyone here for sharing their knowledge. I've learned a lot and will continue to do so. Being a California girl my whole life I had no idea how many adjustments people make for cold weather. Some winter days it freezes where I live, but that wears off by mid-morning and we don't have to go through any major changes from winter to summer. Now I also know many other things such as how to properly wash a car (two buckets) and which fuse (29) I may be pulling in my future. Anyway... Thanks again.
